Honda City iDSI idle rpm problem

by reading your posts i thought i shud write somting too..
guys m xperiencing the same problem of rpm.. on the way down rpm touches alomost 200 and then comes back to 800... it occurs when AC compressor starts, when i just press the clutch on bumps signals etc.,
rpm is firmly stables at 800 and i cant feel any sort of vibration, engine is very smooth even somtimes i have to see the odo to confirm that engine is still on or not.
my city 2006 has done 99,550 km.
i have cleaned the throttle body (dismantal, clean n installed)
changed plugs ngk... after that i had put 2 pin denso plugs (pick increased, cng consumption reduced but driving pleasure also reduced, engine noise increased so i put single pin ngk again).
air filter changed .
done cng settings many times
reset the ecu by dinconnecting the +ve wire
but all invain... pick is just pathatic when ac is on.. even somtimes engine shuts off...

the only thing which remains un adjusted is the tappets... although thers is no sound inside the cabin but tappets are much louder than before... i think this problem is due to in-accurate combination of plugs gap and tappets setting.

Update: Today i decided to open up the throttle body and inspect the condition of the IACV as a DIY. Though I have never seen how a dirty TB looks like, but this TB appeared to be in a pretty bad condition. I didn't take the picture of the TB, however I am attaching the pic of the the dirt and debris that got off of it by just a single spray of the Carby Cleaner.

And the inside of the manifold is a horror story as well. Below are the two pictures of what was inside. I didn't knew what to do with this and how to clean the inside of the manifold, so i just sprayed a generous amount of the carby cleaner while the engine was off, I knew i screwed up here. But still i'd like to correct it, yet i don't know wht to do.

Here the pics of the IACV before clean-up. IACV was thoroughly cleaned with the carby cleaner using cotton buds, brush and cotton cloth. And to prevent lint from settling in, i used blower to dry it up. Same was done with the TB.

Results: Nothing has improved, things have become worse :P. Before this, idle rpm(warm engine) was 700 and now it's 850. The cold idle used to be 1200 and now it has risen to 1500!
Even though the problem was the initial fluctuation in the idle rpm, but the idle was pretty smooth. However, after my ''panga'' today, the idle has become quite rough at 850. I haven't driven the car yet, I am just noticing the idle rpm. Maybe if i drive the car, things might get better?
Before this, the initial fluctuation was from 700 to 200 and now this fluctuation has moved to the bracket of 850 to 500.
Again, none of the sensors were tempered with, only grips were taken off and no adjustments were done. Only IACV was cleaned.

my 2006 city with 70,000kms on clock started to stall on iddle /petrol
went for
throtle body svc,
plug cleaning,
iddle valve cleaning,
tappet check,

in 700-800 rupees the car is smooth like a baby(its actually better then previous state of iddling issues even)

You might want to get your engine flushed first, then clean out the PCV valve (it on the pipe going from top of engine valvehead cover to the intake), then get the intake manifold removed and cleaned, alongwith a proper cleanup of the throttle body. In that order.

On start your car is supposed to go up to 1500-1800rpm and come down to a stable 800rpm. Looks like that band has shifted wayy down...

TB service alone costs 800-1500 rs and he got all the work done in 700rs. I think the message was typed in 2007 and it is displayed in 2012;)

wht is intake manifold? is it those plastic boxes n pipes in which air filter is installed??/ i guess.....

No it is the four pipes in between the throttle body and the engine itself from where it takes air in.

PCV valve of these L series engines are not on valve cover. only breather is there. PCV is on the front side of the block just below where intake manifold attached to the head.

you can only find it from honda 3s, 2s or 1s. most probably they do not know what you are asking so quote the part no: 17130pwa003 and price will be Rs 1430 exactly

Here is the schematic depicting PCV:

Part no.2 is the PCV.
Pinch the pipe coming from the intake manifold to PCV, with either a plier or your fingers. If you can hear a clicking sound, then your PCV is fine. This should be done on idling.
The PCV goes into the air/oil separator of the engine block.
For now, my car is garaged as i am busy in my exams. InshAllah, i'll get all the work done on coming monday. How should i flush the engine? Using engine flush? I did it on the last oil change.

PCV valve in only available at honda sharah e faisal n i have very bad experinece with them so i will ordered it tomorrow from honda site.. and yes it costs exactly Rs. 1,430/-

well guyz, got my issue resolved yesterday. To my surprise, it was merely a cracked worn out wire, just above the throttle body.

Took my car to an expert mechanic, told him the issue, he inspected it all over for about 15 mins and then pulled out this grip. Opened all the tapes, bla bla, cut a few wires, joined them again, threw the bad ones away, put some new ones in and whoalla.

the car is perfect. Idling, startup, even I feel it to have become more responsive now. No rpm drops, no sluggish movements, no nothing.

Since faizan bhai's problem wasn't until he got the TB cleaned, so I suspect the issue to be the same with him as well.

bro, do check the grips and wires just above of the throttle body.

Good to know that your issue was resolved. Allhamdoulillah, the issue with idle in my car's case was resolved as well.
The ECU was reset and reconfigured using the Honda's HIM System. It was done after manually adjusting the IACV.
Right now the problem i am facing is the one mentioned in one of the other threads.

bhayion aik problem jo mjhay samajh nahe a rahe meri garee (city 2004) ke race (rpm) idle per slow slow aati hai jab usko race day kar accelarator chortay hain tou rpm wapis aatay hua 1500 say pay rukta hai phir 3-4 second may khud he 900 pay aa jata hai,, yay kis cheez ke problem ho sakti hai ???
