Honda City Oil Change 5000 KM or 3 months?

Hello friends, I own a Honda City 2015 model. It’s maintained by Honda Centre for last 4 years. They recommend to change oil at 5000 KM or three months whichever is early. But, my car is usually driven 5000 km in four to five months. So what datum should I follow?

Nothing will happen to the oil in 6 months. Change twice a year when your mileage reaches the threshold.

But, doesn’t weather/ temperature changes and time as we’ll degrade the viscosity & lubrication of oil?

It does, if you're driving in excessively dusty environments with extreme temperatures and stop-go traffic. Between, check the dipstick at 3 months to get a feel if the oil requires changing. I usually change oil at 5000KM but most of my driving is in Islamabad.

Honda 3s is more inclined towards making money rather than keeping you and your car trouble free. They are simply doing business and making profit out of your pocket. I own 16’ city and total milage for 6 months is hardly 3000 km. change the oil bi annually and never faced a problem. And btw i started this schedule after consulting a chemical engg who works in mobil and specifically deals in industrial and automobile lubricants

Been using genuine honda oil till the day i came to know that they had been pouring SM, the car had clocked 20,000 by then. Switched to SN 5w-40 Liquimoly, felt the diff. Then switched to SN 5w-40 caltex (To cut the cost) satisfied with that as well. Next oil change is in dec and the car has 26,700 on odo
