please search on google for techinal specs........ both cars has 140hp, while on the other side civic has much more torque prius has 155 nm while civic has 173 mn

even just a new AC compressor price quote of the new Prius will give you a stroke. Its fully electric.

Its an old thread but as c4capricorn said, proper tech support from the manufacturer and "learned" tech support from shopowner are two different things and cannot be compared.

little example - SNAP ON in USA make really really good tools with life time replacement warranty - no matter if you break the tool after 25 years of usage they will give you a new one. If some shop is selling SNAPON tools in Pakistan they will not provide you with free tools when you break the original one.

parts.com supply OE parts drop shipped from dealerships. I use them a lot. you can see the compressor pricing yourself.

btw - parts.com already sell at nearly wholesale prices. so technically you will be paying retail + shipping + customs if you want that compressor in Pakistan - lets round it out to approximately Rs 200,000/- for the compressor alone.

I wouldn't touch JDM's with a 10 foot pole. Have seen my fair share of "fresh imported" JDM's undergoing major body work (front beam damaged). Recently saw 4 freshly imported Prius undergoing extensive repairs (totalled cars) at a workshop I go to; to be sold to unsuspecting customers as new, 25k mileage cars.

I know a personal instance where my friends passo had been hit from the front and back thrice within a span of 1 1/2 month. The back spare wheel well crumpled like an accordion, tail gate destroyed; radiator/ ac compress done for. He got it repaired and repainted; and I have to commend the repair job; it looked like it just came out of the factory lol.

Batteries last for 6-7lac km easily, brake pads last twice more than of civics, gear oil also last long and so does the engine oil because f low rev operation. pickup of 1.8 ltr version is more than civic. All spares are available and at 120km/hr its bumpers dont open up on motorways like paki crap newer gen cars with engine shields flying and bumpers tied with nylon so that you wont loose em at high speeds, lol.

well my experience with the new prius was drastic. no grip at all the latest 2011 model i a talking about. it had 17 inch orignal rims but the car used to lean out frm the back side very often. it was a full opton car. then one day in rawalpindi it slipped fromthe back end and was in a very bad accident with a suzuki khyber. then we bought a new prius same pearl white colour with gud michelin tyres and with standard rims which are i think 15inch. the problem was the same. at high speeds the car gets hard to control in turns. civic on the other hand has imence grip. the reborn had better grip than the new model but the new model is far better in grip than prius. plzzzz go for civic...

Are you serious? I have a 2010 S-Touring Prius and its handling is superb. I take several curves at high speeds the other cars just can't do that, and if the car begins to skid, the Traction Control takes good care of it. Probably you became a victim of a JENYAN and not GENUINE import.
