i will ask someone to take photos of the engine bay and check the odo as I don't remember the mileage.
I have a honda civic 1997 1500cc engine and have got it rebuilt just now, can you please guide me which engine oil should I use for my civic throughout? And is there any recommended engine oil for 1st and second oil change during my engines break in period? Will highly appreciate your guidance...
I think you should use 20-50 grid engine oil, and first change should be 1000km, then second will be normal (i.e 3000).
This is what I have learn from Pakwheels member but let's wait for senior memeber response.
BTW, what's the cost for the engine overhaul also which city you are from
He should use 5W30 or 10W30 and max should go to 10W40. 20W50 is too thick
Does these grade change depending on weather of city ?
Not that muchAnd its grade, not gridNo offense
5w30 and use caltex coolant
Really appreciate your reply, im from sahiwal and the total cost that incurred is around 40k approx.
I will opt for i think 10w30, and should i use fully synthetic ones because i want to opt for same type of oil through out.
10w-40. or 10w-30 in winters
replace it at 500km as it completes breakin along with filter... pour new and replace that at 2500km... replace with oil filter everytime....after that keep oil change to its regular interval and in 1st 2 oil changes...notice impurities from engine rebuild in oil..most of it will be caught by oil filter
Thanks bro really appreciate your guidance. Love you Pakweelers
I will see my car after several years next weekend. It will require a body and suspension job. Looking forward to document it just like this engine overhaul thread.
5w 30
