It's not a mystery, it's the size of the gear and the gear ratios that decide your revolution per minute. It is not necessary that a car with big engines would only have to run at 3500 rpm at 120kph and a Mehran wouldn't. If you want to go deep into it, start with studying transmission systems, torque converters and gear ratios. It wholely depends on the design.

Well I am not concerned like u re.
The problem u re anticipating is very rare. I was never concerned about this rpm thing.

2005 Corolla XLi engine takes 3800rpm at 120kmph, 5th gear

Well at 2700 rpm you should be at 100km and some 3k you should be at 120. If you are auto see if your gear light in meter blinks and what is your colour of transmission oil

I changed my clutch plates n did tuning but still it shows 3800rpm on 120km/hr mine one is 2005 manual n my friend auto civic is showing 3000rpm on 120 what to do bro my fuel consumption is also high as compared to him engine is also good
