German and Korean cars dont work in Pakistan, The masses either dont like them or either they are priced very high.
-Santro did compete, Vitz killed it,
-Shehzore was doing great (no competition) Died because dewan went bankcrupt,
-Kia Classic was actualy a gud car for its price, but we preffered Mehran.
-Spectra was a fuel sucker, Had misfiring problems on CNG, Failed like Baleno. (our mechanics didnt find any fun repairing them)
-Nissan did do good, Could do better, But the luniatics at Gandhara are happy with truck makking they didnt even invest much in the cars business, Secondly the whole sole dealer, World auto mobiles also had a very big hand in crapping Nissans image.
-Mitsubishi spares are extremly expensive.
-Chevrolet Joy, Just when people started buying it, Nexus autos had to launch imported Spark with a extremly inflated price, with the worst shape avalible in the market. (joy actualy looked better then spark, To me atleast)
-Aveos shape was soso (lianaish)
-Optra didnt do good.
-Volkswagen (Germans) Planned a CKD assembly plant but thanks to mr 10%, They winded up the imported cars scene aswell.
-Mercedece Shahnawaz, and Audi are good pretty good in Pakistan (atleast they are able to sell more then expected to brand new car freaks)
Do you think when all of these failed experiments have been done, Who would plan to invest in Pakistan in such times, Me as indivisual wouldnt give a shot for this at all, In end last days of Hyundai (atleast for 5 years), they only had one dealer ship in Karachi that too near the airport, In Pakistan companies die because no proper planning is done, Their is zero service backup. i wouldnt want to buy some thing brand new and then find where to get it repaired, With used cars your mentally prepared its a used car, Some strings are attached with it.
Honda knows they can sell more cars if they have the Exi variant, They wont even have to increase costs, But the engine duty is probably the same for 1.6 and 1.8, Its better for them to manufacture the 1.8L variant only and sell it bulk.
