High RPM is perfectly normal. This car has a high redline and short gear ratios so dont worry about that.

If power steering stopped working and i assume you have hydraulic steering then it means that your engine died. Use some other OBD2 to read the error code. The code is kept stored in memory unless you remove the battery.

A bad ground connection can also cause such issues.

The ticking sound could be coming from one of the two relays in dashboard, one is fuel pump relay and other is ECU relay. You can try changing those relays. BE CAREFUL, the relays are very hot to touch when operating, you can burn yourself.

Hi,
Yesterday on moterway i noticed that my cars RPM was on 3.5 at speed of 120km. I tried slowing down and speeding up again, but same. As i remember before it used to be at 3 at spped of 120. Its exi prosmatic 2003.

Can anyone try and share the result here.

This is probably due to locked/unlocked torque converter. When traveling at a steady speed with no load on engine then you will see a lower rpm (locked) as compared to when under load in which case you saw 3.5k. I am no expert but what you described seems pretty normal.

Can someone who owns a Civic 04-05 Vti Oriel manual, take a picture of speedometer while driving the car in 5th gear at speed of 80 and 100.

Also I am facing one issue,

Like mentioned above, car gives a small jerk and at the same time there is a tick sound from ECU and then everything goes back to normal.

Last night after I drove the car for over 50km, during this time the car gave two small jerks, the check engine light started blinking. This is the first time that has happened, what should I do?

I parked the car on road side, turned it off, then after 1 min, turned it back on and everything was back to normal..

Need guidance from experts.

Try changing ECU and fuel pump relay, or it might be loose causing the ticking sounds and messing up your engine. This might also explain why error code is not being saved as no power to ECU means error code gets deleted. be careful those relay are very hot

Civic exi 2003 2lacs km driven. Previously used 5w20 in it zic no issue no oil reduction and before that used 10w40zic should i stick to zic5w20 or go back to 10w40?

5w20 is not recommended for this car. Either 0w20 or shift to 5w30. if no reduction is observed on 5w20 then shift to caltex 0w20. otherwise 5w30
