I was asking because the manual that came with a 2015 civic pros oriel says on page 157 under fuel recommendation "Unleaded petrol, research octane number 87 or higher". This implies ordinary fuel while hi-oct is acceptable too. however the manual of an old XLi says 93 RON required, if i remember correctly. i expected this car to require RON levels like you mentioned i.e. 95+.
i asked the other question about manual because on page 230 under engine specifications it says "Compression Ratio 9.6:1" which contradicts the link i posted. on the same page again it says RON 87 or higher.
Also the quality of pictures given is truly disappointing. i got a honda for the first time in my life after a corolla and so far, besides feeling the awesome car, the only problems i face, are lack of space (am told that is due to srs bags) for keeping stuff inside the cabin, and the bad manual quality, along with the back camera lag etc... haven't even driven the car a few 100 km so can't comment much on drive. though feels good. my concern was about fuel type. i expected it to get ron 91+ as the XLi did, which meant 2/5 Hi-oct and 3/5 regular. am wondering weather the XLi had a manual meant for foreign Corolla's or if Honda messed up somewhere....
