for all the people who have posted something related to the use of high octane or octane boosters.
the use of a hig ron number DOES NOT increase the output of the engine which is not meant to run on it, say the civic's engine is compatible with 92RON, if you put in 88 or 90ROn in it, the engine would not perform at its best, you would witness knocking and a bad fuel mileage, whereas mostly people think that if we pour in a higher ron fuel, the car would churn out more hp, thats NOT the case, you would only be minimizing knocking and would be reaching the perfect compression, thus achieving a better mileage than an inferior RON number fuel..the heat range produced with high octane and normal regular petrol is the same, high octane just burns more efficiently, letting the pistons complete their stroke, unlike a low ROn petrol which combusts before the piston has completed its stroke.
