Agreed with u irfan but what to do if rpm on petrol is perfectly normal 800-900 and on cng it doesnt maintained and comes down to 400-500 despite proper working of advancer and correct wiring and settings and no vaccum leaks in civic 6th gen.
Then its purely a CNG setting problem, good mixture settings solve it. try adjusting urself. you r already getting problems so no worries of messing up anything. after every setting test drive it. fine tune , test drive & so on. u will b an expert in a few days.
Btw the factory idle settings are 750+-50 RPM. Alhamdolillah mine is same on cng as well as petrol. increases to 850 on AC on both.Plz nazar na lagana. lol
@ irfan when i bought my car i did the setting of cng by proper civic mechanic who tunes efi cars as he has scanner also so he did the setting from the iacv valvebut what he did was attach a metal piece on iacv valve which stabled the rpm on idle and i removed the metal piece and there was little movement which is called chal in urdu so there was chal in the butterfly.the butterfly attached to the piece through which accelerator wire end is connected and mechanics use to increase the rpm from engine room through that piece so i changed the throttle body
by the way very informative message given by irfan iam quite satisfied with irfans information
HPS would always stall LOCK-to-LOCK as the power pump consumes up to 10 BHP, nothing to worry about!
Get your throttle body serviced or DIY
Alternatively, Carbcleaner Sprays work too...
Once done, always get the air filter cleaned once a weak, and replace it every 2000 KM...
@afridi68: I have this RPM drop problem in my 97Civic. I got it checked and the reason was that Spark Plug Wires are no more working upto the mark. Mechanics from three CNG shops checked them and told me that i just need to replace the wires. When i went to Pindi to buy these wires at Kyani autos, he had wires of "Ultima" brand. But there look was kind of "2 number" so i didn't buy. I called Dubai autos, they said we have "spitfire" but those were also not USA made original. So first thing is can u help me about this? where can i find these genuine japneese wires? (May be worth mentioning that its Exi civic, with stock engine without any modifications).2ndly, where can i find "LAMBDA LC-01" in Islamabad/Pindi?
Dear kissi mahir mechanic sy TAPPET ke sitting karao lo throttle ke petrol sy cleaning b INSHAHALLAH belkul ok ho jae ga.remember me in ur payers.
can anyone help me i have 2000 Honda civic run perfect it only runs on patrol when i rev it slowly or hardly and when come to idle it go to 200-600 and fastly recover to 750
Brother your CNG advancer / Emulator is not working fine also check your IACV valve if it stucks and airbox for air leak.
hi. i have honda civic 2005 it has D17 vtec engine. it got a problem that my rpm come down slowly to normal or sometime it take time to come down. canu tell me wha to do. my car done 55000 km only
Got a problem IN my 2005 civic exi prosmatic...when I change gear to "D",the rpm goes down from 800 to 0 and the car shakes very badly, but when I accelerate, the cars becomes sound and smooth, same is the issue while stopping, engine vibrates and car turns off
just clean your cng gas kit on petrol and adjust also and watch the magic my friend was having same problem but when he did this his car is flying now
My honda prosmactic 2006 exi has the same problem. Got its throttle body serviced many times but after few weeks the problem returned. So took my car to Abid car tuning workshop near Fasial town Lahore and told them the problem. They removed the throttle body for cleaning and also cleaned IACV sensor connections and most importantly they adjusted a tiny LN key screw near throttle body housing which is called the idle speed screw. Each time they adjust the screw they switched off the car and start again. After making 3 or 4 minor idle speed screw adjustments the car became so smooth and its rpm became perfectly stable. Thanks to Allah for resolving this issue for which I was struggling for the last one year. Name of workshop is Abid Tuning center 03008109402. They charged me only Rs 300 for rectifying this problem.
He is saying that his car is on petrol and there is no CNG in it....
Thanks @khjodat, I will try that also
I have 1.8 vtect civic 2010. I bought it and i was told earlier it was running on cng but later cng was removed. When i bought it idle running was normal both with or without AC. I took it to honda 3s they serviced it and did throttle body cleaning since then rpm is not less than 1000 and fluctuate between 1100-1500. Honda mechanic tells me to change throttle bod any economical way of solving problem
Try changing one by one below two items :
TPS throttle position sensor
Idle air control valve
Problem is 100% lying within these two items .

It is sometimes related to the battery as well!
Did you disconnect the battery ?
