Some more consumption figures!
The first one is just to show that numbers from individual short trips can be meaningless. This is Islamabad driving, econ mode on, (no AC these days) tyres 185/65R15, tyre pressure 32psi front, 30 psi rear, two people on board, gentle driving (with aim for good figures!). The numbers are real, but probably cannot be achieved on regular basis!
The second is the trip to Lahore via motorway. This one is with Cruise control on and set at max (110kmph ) where possible. 2 people + plenty luggage.
One thing that needs clarifying, when the car was running original 175/65R15 tyres on original steel wheels, the consumption numbers were very close between car computer and what I got with fuel pump top-up to top-up, less than half kmpl difference. Now with the new slightly bigger size tyres on Honda alloys, its more like 1.5kmpl difference. With bigger tyres, consumption has gone down, even if I count in the 2% increased difference in distance covered due to bigger tyre. The speedometer error is now negligible compared to Garmin or other GPS readings!
Conclusion is that, after having driven nearly 3000 km in last few months, with the kind of routine driving that I undertake, I am now getting 19kmpl around town. On motorway, with cruise set at 110kmph it gives around 18kmpl. My trip to Lahore with plenty in city driving in Lahore, overall gave 18.5kmpl over 950km! All figures are pump top-up to top-up.
