Honda hurries to redo Civic

Atlas would not introduce 9th gen, honda japan would insist to do so, after long contradiction atlas license would get canceled. RIP Atlas !

Atlas is hardly breaking even whe it comes to its profits. i dont foresee atlas group taking a risk with the non facelift 9th Gen Civic n would continue. Furthermore, the current 8th Gen is getting popular and its demand is high. people are preferring civics as majority of the ex 2.OD saloon owners are trying out the civic as diesel is expensive n the good MPG of civic.CNG is another factor. people arent impressed by the 9th gen pics n looks in it. hence the 1s which were holding back for the expected new civic generation are now buying the current civic. my prediction is dat they will continue the curent model for yet another year!!

Atlas would launch 9th gen certainly.. and it would be a big hit as always... for we don't have any Elantra to choose in Pakistan... Honda Civic will remain the only 1800 CC local car... and People will be buying it as THE ONLY AVAILABLE OPTION... sadly!!!

it will be delayed now because of floods in thailand and may come in 3 or 4 quater of 2012.currently there will be shortage of parts in altas because of worst ever flooding in thailand so own and booking may go up

to change over production to a new model, costs a lot!

after getting news that honda will redesign the civic quickly, I think honda atlas Pakistan will wait for the new stuff to launch and come on scene, then maybe they'll invest in it.

I sincerely hope the next gen civic get something like a K16 variant engine, an efficient and smooth tiptronic kinda auto tranny, cruise control. K16 would be hell powerful and very very efficient, and the other options combined with that could give the altis a run for the money.

To become profitable Honda Atlas needs to make the right market choices.

look into history at the time of 1970, VW was being seriously outmuscled by other manufacturers - VW had their classic beetle (improved ever since). Then they bought out Audi and started making little FWD cars built on a principle of low cost tooling.

The beetle had become their own cancer, same with Pak Suzuki motors in Pakistan - the only difference is that in Pakistan people will buy what their mechanic tells them to buy - so the Mehran lives on. Irankhodro in Iran had their Peykan, they finally kicked it out because their buyers actually started to look for other brands. The company enjoyed massive profits with the Peykan but had stalled themselves in time.
