Honda Insight 2010

I have recently bought Honda Insight hybrid 2010 after doing a lot of diligence on the hybrid car options available. I think its the best buy considering the price, fuel consumption and drive quality. My car is giving me 20.5Km/l in Lahore city from 650Kms that I have driven so far. Kindly if anyone can suggest a good service center for the car in lahore as I need to get it tuned up and change its plugs etc.

You can get its plugs changed from any where but these modern cars don't need tuning...!

what about throttlebody cleaning etc? they even dont need that?

Bro prius n insight are different class n both are brilliant in their category.. I drive prius n i got 900 km in one tank in lahore while once i drove it on very light foot n i got 1000 km so both cars are good n can be judged in their own class not compareable

Only change the plugs no need of throttle body tuning

you shouldn't even change the plugs unless there is a compelling reason.

I know that in the Honda Fit hybrid, the AC turns off as engine turns off at a red light. I dont know if insight has the same issue, so better check that for sure. In this heat, AC not working on stops is really irritating. In pruis the compressor is electric so no problem there.

My Honda Insight 2012 ZE3 1500cc is on way from Japan. It is 05 grade and only 25000 km driven. It is exclusive XL inter navigation Lather package having paddle shifter and cruse control options. I am very inspired to see the pictures and option it have.
i do a lot of research, after that i came to that conclusion that in the budget of Prius 1.5 EX, by adding only 1 to 1.5 lac more, you can get this full package car.
further more Honda is used in Japan as a personal car while Prius 2011 EX is used for rental purpose.
therefor i prefer it over Prius 1.5EX

Highway 341km with A/C rest City driving w/o A/C , max speed 140km/h


HIGHWAY DRIVING @ 100KM/H
Later milage touched 21km/l when we reached Faisalabad




You can see how much fuel did the car consumed till FSD with 5 people on board and filled with Luggage!
Car was highly stable and we even took it to 186km/h on the same trip
Totally City without A/C

Yes its an original car , 4.5 Grade , 1.5 will have better avg on Highway maybe , little less in city but 1.5 would be more fun to drive

I'm using Zic A+ 5w-20 oil!
Air filter , original one is almost impossible to find!
Leppon Air filter fits in , ill send you its pic soon so its easy to find

I think it has the same engine as locally available CR-Z hybrid. what you think the air filter of CR-Z suits the Honda Insight or Not?

CRZ has a different air filter !
Bigger engine and its sports car so it needs more air
But it'll be available in Market and also from Honda

Hello Everyone.
I bought the Insight 1300cc hybrid 2010 about year and a half ago and since the start it is not giving me more than 13kmpl in karachi city. 14kmpl with a light foot and no more than that. I dont think thats normal. How should I get this fixed? Tuning etc and from where would that be possible in karachi.
Also. The car has been driven 3-4k so it needs to be serviced. What Oil and Oil Filter and Air Filter would fit for this car?

Mine is giving above 18!
Check your airfilter , replace if required!
Remove the sensor wire above air filter compartment , which will give a check light !
Now re connect the wires! And remove batteries + ve terminal for 1-2 mins and install it back , check lamp should have been gone by now !
Now reset the avg and drive and you'll see the increase in avg!
Btw are u willing to sell it?

I am not planning to sell as of now but soon I might be going to buy the new corolla and sell this. Will let you know if i make a decision.
