Assalamoalikum to all!
Msging in the thread after some time, wanted to give you guys details of my trip, something new to read during the lockdown!
I booked return tickets of Airblue, it costed me 14 x 4 = 56k.
We departed from Karachi early in moring, reached Islamabad before noon. There I had arranged a car (the driver and car was arranged through a contact). It was 2017 Corolla.
We travelled to Murree and spent the day there. Stayed in hotel Red Cottage (it was about a km from Mall road). It costed Rs. 3000/- for the night. The room was big (had a room plus a small lounge), had to compromise on cleanliness and hot water was available.
Next day, we left Murree and went to Patriata, enjoyed the chair lift! Afterwards stopped at PC Bhurban for lunch, prayed Zuhr and Asr namaz there as well.
Then we departed for Muzaffarabad. On the way we stopped at a couple of spots, including Neelum point.
Reached Muzaffarabad after magrib and stayed at hotel The Lodge. It costed Rs. 2500/- per night. It was great, room was spacious and clean, bathroom was furnished, heater was upto the mark. Only issue was availibility of hot water was only for few specific hours.
Next day we visited some places in and near Muzaffarabad, including the snow-capped peak of Pir Chinasi, Red Fort, Kashmir Abshar, and another waterfall whose name I cannot recall.
Next day we departed and first went to Kutton, where we had breakfast, visited Dhani abshar, Kutton abshar and neelum jhelum hydropower project/dam.
Reached Keran at around magrib and stayed in The Valley Trackers which costed Rs. 2500/-. It was clean and tidy, room was spacious. But there was electricity issue and their generator was working on and off. One more thing, at that place the usual mobile networks do not work. The have a seperate SIM network for there.
Next day, we strolled to nearby places at Keran on foot and then started travel up towards Neelum Valley and further, but due to snow fall we were told that the route would be risky. So we decided to cancel and instead travelled back again to Muzaffarbad, reached there duirng the evening and stayed in the same hotel The Lodge.
Next day we travelled to Ggaliyat region, first went to Ayubia, then Dunga gali and then Nathia gali. Spent a day there and stayed in Dunga gali, the hotel costed Rs. 2000/-. The room was clean and tidy but hot water was not available.
Next morning we explored the Mushkpuri peak and hiked it. It took us around 3 hours to reach the top and another 1 hour on the way down. It was gorgeous, the whole climb!
Afterwards we travelled back to Islamabad, where we stayed one of my Aunty's house, had dinner at Monal (the view was nice but food quality was below expectations
)
Next morning we viisited Faisal Masjid and then went to the Airport for the return flight.
It was an 8 day trip. We travelled in that same car throughout. It costed me 3500 per day to the driver plus petrol (Rs. 12000/- total in fuel). Driver's daily food and overnight stays were his responsibility (He had friends and relatives at every place, except in Islamabad, where my Aunty arranged his stay in her Guard's room). The driver was very polite and had good manners. I was very satisfied with him!
It was the best week of my life, we both went along very well!
And thank God I made the trip immediately after wedding, otherwise now I would have been stuck due to the pandemic!
