After how many days shuttering should be opened and construction on it be started? lentil 7 days pehly dala tha, shuttering abhi tk lagi hoi hy. please guide lentel kitny days baad kholwana chaeay and 1st story ka kaam kb start karaya jaey? 2ndly the house is going to be used by our own self. please suggest can we make upper portion out of blocks? neechy wala portion proper bricks sy banaya gya hy but some one told me k blocks are better and cheaper. please suggest.

Open shuttering after 18 days as its winter now days.in summers u can open after 12 days.

No use bricks as blocks have v limited strength and blocks used only in coulmn based construction.

@tajammal84, I intend to install Grohe or Roca sanitary ware in my house. However, my plumber told me that with Grohe and Roca, a water pumo is going to be a must as without it the pressure of water flow will be very low in case of grohe and roca wont work without a water pump. And as I hear from one of my neighbours who have installed a water pump with grohe fittings, he tells me that maintaining a water pump is a headache and one or the other thing keeps burning. Do you have any first hand knowledge about grohe or roca fittings. I am a bit more inclined towards roca.

Dear Irfan,
1st things is , simplicity has its own beauty. I would recommend not to install pressure pump at home. It puts whole sanitary wiring under load and water wastage is very high in homes having pressure pumps. Even without pressure pump, you can have a very good water pressure in ground floor and 1st floor (with installation of non-lever based fittings). If your sanitary wiring is good and dedicated supply provided to washrooms via 32 mm pipe and 25 mm used only before fitting via reduction elbow, there will be sufficient water flow in taps of ground and 1st floor. In without pressure pump option, you can go for porta fittings (lever based) at ground floor and master fittings(round spindel) at 1st floor.

If you are still interested for pressure pump, please ignore ROCA(due to limited backup in Pakistan) and GROHE (very high Capital and Maintenance/Parts Cost). Simply go for PORTA fittings. For pressure pump installation, your sanitary piping work shall be of very high standard, and go for variable speed flow pressure pump.

Grohe will not give you desired result (interms of performance) without Pressure Pump. However at Ground Floor you can get only 30 to 40% performance result.

To the sum up, Grohe will not work without pressure pump.

Please suggest which type of vanity should be built for bathrooms. Vanity of A grade corian without bowl is available at 1400/sq feet which is a bit expensive. On the other hand, vanity made out of frame+marble+bowl may not be expensive but there is limited knowledge/guidelines regarding frames. Which option is better and how good quality can be made at reasonable rates?

There are mainly (widely used) 4 types of basins options available for installation in Baths.

1- Over counter Basin (fix over the marble slab, most economical and widely constructed)

2- Under Counter Basin (fits under the marble slab but usually not recommended as dirt accumulates between marble and basin neck)

3- Open Bowl Option (you just place bowl/basin over the marble slab)

4- Pre prepared assembly (on top w.r.t interior but high cost as compared to all, cabinets tend to damage with passage of time if under cabinet material is non-pvc based)

If you ask from me , my personal choice would be 1 then 3rd in terms of economy. If money is no problem then I will simply go for 4th option (PVC based cabinet only and only).

W.r.t frame for options 1 to 3, its being prepared of RCC by leaving hole in advance as per basin type and arrangements. You can further advise your sanitary guy to demonstrate it further for you in terms of practical manner.
