How good or bad Honda City is!? i'm thinking of buying one

Those models have 16 valves, so more power and fuel, but city 04-08 have 08 valves and less power and fuel consumption as compared to 16valve engine.

Bro it mean can i disable some valve of my car to increase my mileage

First of all I have NOT seen any Honda City doing 20 km/L..........but some peoole claim their City can go upto 18-20 km/L, may be exceptions, one in a million

I regularly travel between Karachi and Lahore on my 07 manual iDSI and for sure I get 19-21 kmpl. The key however is to drive in 80-90 kmph range. Drive at 100-110 and you get around 18 kmpl and then there is a sharp decline above 120.

You cannt compare 2 different class of cars. city idsi being 1300cc and way less in price than axio being 1500cc.
The poster is asking for used 2007 idsi, so he must have kept that much budget in his mind.

ammarkhan87 my friend used to drive faisalbad to isb every weekend on 06 city and he upgraded lil bit such as 4 tip iridium plugs etc and getting 23+ milage on motor way at constant speed of 100 to 110 with 2 passengers
this is most fuel efficient car as well as cheap spare part specially in fsd

and i not this one then go for vtec steermatic us ki average thori si idsi sy kam hai but automatic + 7 speed virtual gear box give a pleasure to drive

and good milage of idsi is due to its technology idsi stands of intelligent dual and seqantial ignition its has 8 plugs , 2 plug per cilender 0n low rpm firstly one spark and then 2nd then 1st ,this is its sequence 1st,2nd,1st,2nd and so on....but on 5k+ rpm both plugs sparks in this way it burns every drop of fuel injected,

and about auto tranny idsi and vtec steermatic both are equipped with cvt (continuous variable transmittion) which do not have gears its changes gear ratio according to rpm and speed and give good average than simple manual and auto

I'm thinking of buying a used 2007 Honda City.

1. I've heard that City is very generous on fuel and does around 20 kilometers per liter on long routes if driven at around 80km/hr. Is that really true??

2. Some people say that Honda City also has many downsides or weaknesses, for example, it's not very tough like Civic, Is this also true??

Actually, i'm a Civic lover, I've used civic for 4 years and had no complaints at all. My only reason for buying a City is its good fuel economy but I also don't want to compromise too much on durability. So, if you could oblige me by answering my above two questions about Honda City, that would be terrific.

1.very ture city is very fuel efficient is manual and auto (cvt) too
2.its not true its obvious civic is stronger n powerfull but city is not bad as well
many things in city r better then civic
like eps,larger boot space,power window qualtiy,hand brake,cabin silence n bla bla

with 4 tip iridium plug spark will not miss as i am using 2 tip ngk on my city 2001 with d15b and giving me 10km/l in city and upto 14km/l on long but its with cng cylinder and wiring it will do more if cng is remove

never go for any toyota
and never compare honda with toyota
as every one can see honda civic is used at homes and in street racing in many forign countries and city is used as home car in Thailand, Indonesia Malaysia and phillepines
but toyota is mostly used as taxi and station vans even crown was based to run as taxi in middle east but Lexus is luxury class and kept by riches of forign

but i like civic to kept at home as most comfortable thing for family is flat floor ov back seat in 2001 and later models but boot space is less than city bcoz its a sporty sedan car

@aliam_786 Iridium plug is a mouth-watering technology but i was totally unaware of such a great thing...thanks! for letting me know...Yeah! Civic is my favorite too but it's not as good at fuel economy as City. Toyota is reliable but the ones we get here doesn't come with much kit.

No need to go for cng on such a Honda City, if someone is lucky enough.

using 2006 City Vario for more than an year and getting an average of 15 KM/L while driving daily between Wah and Islamabad. Overall its a nice practical car. Manual version is obvious
