If you want to use it as a "family car", then go replace the rear seat with some comfortable one. . .
Otherwise it's much better than others. Fielder is a "semi-luxury" station wagon, where proBOX is a BOX!!!

You can put a lot of luggage even after putting two mid size CNG tanks in the rear. . .

Most of the taxis you find in Saudia are Toyota Camry. So does that mean people in pakistan should not buy it as it is used mostly as taxi car in some other country? Toyota Hilux is farely used for small transportation purposes in many places throughout the world. So does that mean we should not buy it? even Suzuki Alto is used for pizza delivery in many arab countries. Despite all these, you'll see Toyota Camry as family car throughout in Saudia, Toyota Hilux as family vehicle everywhere in Pakisan, Suzuki Alto every where in Pakisan. So why should we treat toyota succeed/probox the other way?

Toyota succeed/probox is a good looking vehicle and nice family car. Everybody has different tastes as for as looks are concerned.

The X70 station wagon was produced from 1984 to 1997. That's 13 years with only a few minor revisions over the years. and the car mentioned above is a MARK II grande which is a status symbol for many of us. though it was a station wagon but still its same as markII.

He got a Probox in Silver color, but it's 1.4 D.4D Diesel engine, last month. It seems very powerful and he's lucky to get a nice car

Don't know about the petrol version, some people say it 12kmpl, others say it's as bad as 9-10kmpl. . . No idea, but that guy in Karachi claims to cover more than 90kms in 500 fuel (means its around 17-18kmpl)

Toyota D4D's are capable of that kind of mileage. The only issue is the quality of fuel in Pakistan. Our agriculture quality diesel is no good for those direct injection diesels.

Yeah this is the problem, but still there are thousands of Hilux and some other pickups and SUVs are here with such kind of engines. It's been just a month now, lets see how long does it last

The above info is from wikipedia.com, and it's not up to date. Toyota Probox does come in 1.4 D.4D and available in Japan (Google it), though little expensive than 1.5 vvti petrol engine. Plus he's not my friend, he's my friend's relative. I'll ask him to share the pix if possible.

One more thing, some people say it also comes in 1.8 vvti (auto & manual) petrol engine, but i'm not sure. However, 1.4 Diesel is there in Japan and I even spoted one in silver color at PSO filling station in F-8 markaz... it had "RA " series number plate and filling up "Green XL plus diesel"

Well i drove probox from khi to isd 2 days back,it is an excellent family car,one can fold the rear seat and put mattress in it for children,its fuel consumption was 16.5km plus with ac and around 18km/ltr without ac with a speed of 90-100km/hr,however fuel consumption was around 15.5-16km/ltr on motor way when driven on 120km/hr or plus.
Its costing around 10lakh with registration these days,i think its a good vehicle and drive is comfortable as well.

you did something wrong. do not advise a matress for children, they need to be sitting too and "seat belted"
