How people get jobs in UAE while sitting in Pakistan

Bro my company is based in islamabad and my work is related to financial and market analysis of all major international companies. Although I haven't worked outside pak so far but our job is such that we continuously work together across the global teams so we are all the time in touch with US and India office staff and also Philippines etc. Secondly our company's industry is not much present in pak but it is very prominent in US, Dubai and other countries.

Financial information providers such as Bloomberg, Factset, Sungard, S&P, Moody's are a few examples of my relevant industry. Therefore I believe I can be a good candidate for such companies on a global level. But not sure how to explore any such opportunities so I would like to get an idea from some experienced members in this regard. Thanks.

Exactly - I tell that to everyone, that If a complete goofy person like me can make do - so can you.

Sorry if my post was a bit harsh but I have met hundreds of our people outside of Pakistan who wanted some help in employment. I tried more than my best. Got a few dozen people succesfully working too.

The real problem I saw was that - most people would try to "wing" a situation. There is a universal skill standard that has been in place since thousands of years - Its called getting to know your trade to below building block level - which is called the energy level - after that success follows. I even had to coach some in interviewing and studying hard about their trade/skill.

The people that suffer are those that see work as "employment to earn money" only doing a repititive task everyday - no more no less

Once you get to know your business/trade/skill to the energy level - it wont matter where you are - work will come to you.

@xulfiqar, i will soon be joining a university for mechanical or electrical engineering (i prefer these two because these will get me a job but will also help me in understanding cars). what i want to do at this time is to start doing small jobs, after graduation get a job for financing and start my own workshop (it is abit like a dream, you know the criteria which pakistanis use to define nakama, if you do this kind of work you are nakama, and you are ala if you are a talcum powdered guy doing a 9 to 5 job).

what would you advise me, i want to take the same route as you

To all fellow PW who are planning to work in UAE

1-Make sure not to apply for Loan, Credit cards etc etc. stay out of it at any costs. (will ruin your life!)
2-Make sure your Company Provides you Transport & Accommodation (if the company does not provide these facilities you are screwed n save not a single fils!) don't just think that this company giving me 4k or that company is giving me 5k etc etc! one of my ex-colleague moved to UAE for the First time, he's earning 3k n he is not paying for rent & transport! the cost of living is extremely high.

you will learn nothing about cars in electrical engineering....

in mechanical engineering, you will be taught about different types of engines but not exclusively car engines...

so mechanical is the one for you.

Also, workshop is also a 9-5 job.

Hello PW Folks,

Thanks for sharing valuable information. I have got few queries for you all..Please advice me.

1. I will be completing my B.com after few months.. in Jan I will be appearing in my final 2 papers...my family suggests me that I should get a entry level job in a bank in Karachi and do a executive MBA 3yrs from reputable uni like CBM, But I am not sure Bank entry level job will pay me 18k max ..

2. The other Option is to go in Dubai after appearing in exams find a job in marketing etc ... and after a year or so start my executive MBA from Dubai.. I am not sure about this option either as people suggested me that I should do a MBA from Pakistan and gain few years experience in Banking industry before applying to Dubai...

My Background is sales and marketing i.e Call center ! I am very fluent in English and have good writing skills too ... I AM CONFUSED PLEASE SUGGEST ME WHAT SHOULD I DO ??

I think accounting and finance field is mostly occupied by ppl having ACCA, CA, CIMA and other accounting qualifications. However still there should be opportunities available to BS Finance with appropriate knowledge/experience, at least better than Pakistan!

I am facing a drastic situation. I landed Dubai a week ago and got an offer at JLT within three days. When my company submitted my visa application, it got rejected because my BS degree was not attested from U.A.E embassy . I got it attested from HEC Islamabad then Ministry of Foreign affairs in Pakistan and also Pakistani Consulate after arriving Dubai but it needs to be attested from MOFA U.A.E as well. So when I went there, they said that first it has to be attested from U.A.E Embassy Pakistan and then we can do anything. I got scarred and ran to INDEX office to send my certificate to Islamabad for attestation. I want to know that how many days it will take and what I will do if it take more time than expiry of my visit:(?
