i was in sort of similar situation once when i had to drive an automatic on urgent basis and had absolutely no idea about driving automatic. i still remember how i spent good 20 minutes on youtube learning how to drive automatic to not look noob to my friends when i was actually driving it. I survived the day in the end. so yes driving new car can cause nervousness at first.
All you would need to do is to learn the balance between clutch & accelerator.Do a medium hard brake whilst driving to see how good the brakes are- Make sure there is nothing behind you.Do not drive above 70-80km/h till you feel comfortable.Have basic toolkit in car and read Du'a before travelling.Enjoy:)
