Although the author of this page might have made his decision by now, for future students who will be faced with this dilemma I want to share a few things:
First of all, Try to get into NTHP program, IBA has this unique program to help students from humble background. This program prepares u for IBAs entry test. Once u clear it, they fund your Tuition fee + Hostel fee + Stationary and books exp. On top of all these, they also pays u a monthly stipend of 4k.
IBA provides multiple options to generate income from. These include becoming Teaching assistant (pays upto 16k a month), SBP research enumerator (upto 7k a month), On campus job (dont know how much it pays) and Research assistant (upto 10k a month).
On top of all these u can also teach private tuition, IBA has multiple student groups that helps u connect with students near your location.
It is true IBA has ended its merit scholarship. But these funds have been diverted to need based scholarships. Yes, the process is quite long and involves alot of paper work but there is a high chance of getting alteast some part of your tuition fee being waived, Moreover, iBA also gives out scholarship to students for doing certifications like CFA.
Also, earlier a point was raised regarding discrimination at IBA. See, IBA has this student body belonging to very diverse backgrounds. (from the wealthiest to the underprivileged ones). U will find here groups of all sorts, it totally depends on who u hang out with. Right now, I am sitting with a friend (from NTHP program) at city campus who is from south Punjab. He has never ever faced any such issues at IBA.
PS. i am a senior year student at IBA
