How to import bike from Japan?

Hi guys. I want to import my ninja 300 by taking it all apart and bringing piece by piece. I live in NYC. Has anyone successfully done this before or have any tips?

In this way you won't be able to ride it here because it will be a non custom paid unregistered bike.

@Khurramchauhdary Im looking into work arounds for that too. Can’t I Register the bike as a built-up or custom and register the engine of a local 125cc bike?

I don't think it will work for you because in this case 1st time when you will present the documents you be caught red handed. Rest you should ask some customs agent if there is any legal process exists or not otherwise I won't suggest you if he offer you something illegal.

Bro you live in USA and still your mind think about ways to do things illegally .you might be able to trick people but you can’t fool traffic police .

New Police constable lot is educated now more of them are masters degree holder so I don't think they won't be able to spot the difference.

I suggest you to visit some police station and look at the personal bike and cars in use of them. More than 90% of rides they use are this kind of captured bikes and cars. Don't compare it with a local unregistered bike. He can register anytime by paying the fine which is already negligible and he can be caught anytime before that.

Just because something is illegal, doesnt mean that its bad. Especially in pakistan, with its ridiculous and corrupt laws.

For registration of car it is only 2k after two months but less than 6 months and 5k for any period more than 6 months of invoice date so I I don't think it could be more than 500 rupees for a bike. Don't know how you are saying its 300% of invoice price in case of late registration. Not practical.

Dolphin Police is the most refined form of law enforcers on bikes I have seen to date in Pakistan, (achay buray log har jaga hotay hain isliye generalise kerna ghalat ho ga) but over all they always treat you with respect while (if) they are inquiring or stopping... unless you are a machar rider with no helmet and zigzaging accross the road or doing a wheelies or may be looking suspecious for any reason...

I live in lahore too... and like 3 times I happen to got engaged with them (once while over speeding on a touring bike) but they were largly polite and just checked my papers warned me that I should behave... and I accepted and then they were even more interested to learn about my bike as they had a similar machine as well...
