For as long as I know No Bike engine is being made inside Pakistan -- All so many local brands of Chinese origin like united , crown , ravi , pak hero , sohrab , and so many like these do not do some rocket science but simply assemble these here --- Their prices are very low --- for example 70 cc varies from RS 38000 to RS 45000 ---- United now introduced good looking street dirt bike -- i heard it costs around RS 96000 ONLY ---- some local such ( chinese origin ) brand even has a price tag of RS 76000 rupees for 150 cc --- YBR Yamaha 125 is around RS 132000/-
They do not make the engines -- they import as parts and assemble later -- i guess there is a loop hole where we still do not know exactly ---- i am pretty much sure they declare these as parts paying lowest duties and after they assemble it they sell and we can register these -- i mean how in the world they can give rickshaw 200 cc and 150 cc and even bikes 150 cc at such low prices -- we know chinese prices and calculating duties -- it is NOT POSSIBLE to sell at such low prices ----- these all local assemblers buy and declare as parts for less duty PLUS after so many years in business they establish special links to bribe eating custom people and these custom people tell themselves the least payable shortcuts in the system -- but all in all it is pathetic to see such crazy high duties.
