well i also have auto car civic 05 oriel pros and pick is really impressive i mean if i giv full throttle in each gear it goes till 6000 RPM And then changes its gear and i have beaten them all 1.3 ltr city many times , gli ,xli a 1000 times , new civic once , and once was beaten by new civic , IST ,prado ,cultus,se saloon and lancer1.6 and Vitz but did all these childish acts ven bot my car last year usually i avoid revving the car b/c its harmful for my cars engine and transmission ! dont drive fast pls good for your health as well as ur wealth :d

dude i dun noe which steermatic u hav bcoz in ma experience no 1.3 car can beat it it may b 4rm 0km/h bt keep in mind race shud b above 500m

[highlight]automatics are not built for drag races.........u will lose if its a short race (quarter mile).............but u can win if its a long race.......!!!!! Acceleration sucks on A/T....!!!!
In a manual u have the power in ur hand!!!!!

agreed, i think steermatic might even loose to a 1.0 manual like Cultus, Santro, etc in a short race but in a long one like in case of GLI it will surely takes the lead but steermatic will catch on. There is a video somewhere on PW which I will find and post the link between Baleno 1.3 and 1.6 SE Saloon Rolla auto . Baleno took the initial lead easily but then Se Saloon auto caught up

Not ideal to use an automatic when dragging but,

1) Keep the car in D
2) Press the brake
3) Press the accelerator
4) Pop the brake as if it were the clutch pedal in a manual car.

This 'launches' the car a little bit since the engine's spinning a few thousand rpms more while you're standing still. Oh yeah and in your case, make sure you launch in S.

dude i don't reallly understand how a GLi would beat u! i own a gli aswel plus a steermatic and the best of drivers coudn't make the gli win over the steermatic!Well i put in S and in 7 speed mode! take it upto let say 70-80 and then back into D!

u can do whatever u want but an auto will not lanch.

i have a 5afe auto but i still beat better cars if i launch while rolling.

its a better option for you. whoever u are racing tell them u want to have a roll on cuz ure car is automatic.

there is a turbo boost button next to the handbrake .. make sure you press that before you launch the automatic car into a drag race

Hard to blv U lost to a 1.3.. dude.. U shd always go fr long run dragz.. n an auto shd (if wd a manual) shd drag on a roll on... as fr da lancer vdo.. da guy.. dryvn da lancer wz at fault bt again in da same vdo..once da steermatc gaind da momentum it lukd impossbl to catch it...

keep in mind that the steermatec is basically a CVT so if the CVT belt gets broken due to severe abuse, it doesnt really get replaced with "Shalwar ka nala"

please keep in mind that if you rev the engine and thenswitch to D you WILL break your gearbox.

if you really want to race put it in D, press both pedals and then release the brake when you want to launch, but do not do this for too long or you will fry the gearbox.

bros i think we are in agreement that the best option is a roll-on start or if you want to do an standing start then it should be a long race. However, dont wanna promote races on crowed roads as well so find an empty patch of road if you wanna try this

I assume u dragged in D mode which is not for quick accelaration and is for everyday normal driving.

As you can see even u stayed parallel to a Manual SE Saoon which is amazing

u can try u things:

1. launch the car in pure "S" mode

2. Launch the car in "7 speed mode" while in S and when RPM reaches around 6,000 change the auto mode and remain in S
