Congrats on the purchase. One thing I must mention here is the fuel filter, have u changed it or know when the last owner changed it ? I had recently faced the same issues with my 3L , and I got the same stories/advises from mechanics as u have mentioned e.g. engine banged-up, clutch plate , nozzle pressure etc. So i started working on things one by one, 1st thing was to change fuel filter , got some improvement after the change but was not enough, then came the nozzles , the change improved pick/mileage a bit more , then came the issue of supposedly weak engine , got it checked from our company mechanics and drivers , they said if there isn't any blow then engine is ok from intake valves side , and it's not burning oil hence piston-rings are also ok, then came the final issue of clutch/pressure plate for that I had to get my rig stuck in mud , engage 4x4 and let the clutch loose slowly , I smelled something burning , which was most probably clutch plate , got the gear box opened up and found the clutch plate was almost gone , replaced it and the truck was back to normal torque and power stats as it was when i bought it.

BTW I always keep a spare clutch cylinder in my tool box , U never know when it will give way again.. , changing it is just a 15 min job..

Thanks for the feedback. I changed the fuel filter along with the oil changes just after purchasing.

Regarding the clutch plate, I tried to climb a steep which I managed to do in L4 and I smelled burning clutch plates. Btw I broke the engine mount (the big one under the gearbox) while climbing that. So I think I will fix clutch plates sometime when I get free. I hate to take cars to mechanics and then leave them there for over nite. I just dont get good feeling out of it.

So when I will get little free don't know when but I will spend few days with mechanic and learn the things myself.

So once i get my engine and clutch back in perfect order I plan to Install Intercooler and boost up turbo. Get the guages for EGT, turbo boost... plans are big but not impossible.... planning to get 33 inch wider AT tyres at some point also along with new suspensions.. But I dont wanna compromise speed.

I plan to get all the electronics redone. they are in worst shape.

Brother, Now that you own a TLC 80, get used to taking the car to the mechanic and leaving it there.....rather I suggest that make friends with a couple of good mechanics and you will benefit..

1) Australians (sane with reasonable amount spending on cars)
2) Arabs (crazy money with stupid minds)
3) Pakistanis (ultimate jugaru)

Americans are sober mostly..

Regarding the Bull... I was thinking thinking prado surf prado surf but then I was like **** it... i will go for the biggest option in my range... I was aiming for spending something close to 2.5 million but i ended up spending only half

Jugaru is not a bad thing... sometimes when we cant seem to find any solution... then we opt for jugaar and it works almost everytime.

Yeah i read the phantom on pakwheels and it was nice.

I have worked with a lot of Nationalities, I guess all you can think of. I found most of the goras not doing any jugaar, they will do the work complete and accurate 100 percent (not talking about cars only)... where as we Indian/Pakistanis just try to finish the work and get it off from back. They speak up if they don't know and try to learn and they never lie.

In Pakistan mostly from top to bottom everyone lies,,,, you can't trust anyone

My dear friend first of all, i will tell you wat 1HD-T can dooo, if tuned up properly.... it can produce upto 175 hp at 3600 rpm (Even more around 200-210 hp with FMIC, Exhaust piping, Snorkel & K&N filter and if diesel pump is properly tuned)....& 361N-m torque at 1400 rpm....

-> Speed & power factor
= It might be due to messed up clutch & pressure plate, or diesel pump or nozzles..... 80% chance is due to clucth & pressure plate...
with these things properly working you can easily touch 180Km/hr at motorway.....

-> Point which you didnt noticed may be..
= Exhaust piping should be according to the engine.... 1HZ version is a non-turbo engine, which uses exhaust piping 2-2.25 inch.... but a turbo version needs a bigger exhaust , minimum 2.5 inch max 3 inch so you can control the Exhaust gas temperature... and you can easily listen to the turbo spool

-> Suspension
= Get it checked & replace watever need to be replaced.... you can find the genuine parts easily...

and yes last but not least.... Get your fuel lines checked.....

Currently as you know because of petrol crisis in Pakistan my brother is using my car as DD. Thanks to the dual fuel tanks.

Once he goes back to his own, I will ask my father to bring it to your place and get it all checked.

This car needs a lot of work to be done. There are vibrations at 100 km/hr which I hate the most.

I m in Dubai for 5 weeks, do you think there are somethings I can buy from here and bring it to Pakistan so I can get them installed. e.g., suspension, shock absorbers etc etc etc... anything that is easy to bring or I can think about shipping option.
Any other suggestions.

I don't think we have much variety of accessories in Pakistan, I could not even find good fog lights in Rawalpindi. I took used from Mittu khan ka ahata but I dont really like them ( they are CABIE).

I would recommend that you get a Boost Gauge and an EGT Gauge installed....it will help you change your driving style...

The things which you really can buy from dubai is ironman suspension, if you plan to get aftermarket & performance suspension.

If there's vibration that suggests to me that your suspension needs looking at and some of the bushes and rubber parts have perished, you can get some poly bushes from Dubai. You can get specific ones or a whole package for the car. They will be expensive but they will last a long time.

Same concept as temperature gauge... if Egr increases slow down dont floor it etc improve cooling waggara. Boost gague will tell turbo stuff.
