Hello Team,

So far I have reached this point... Engine overhauling is done... a few cosmetics too...

but the ride is hard... cant do speed breakers fast.

What suspensions do the experts recommend me here? my tire size is 33 inch. 31 was small for that.

Even odometer was reading more on 31 inch... reads perfect on 33 inch size so I think 33 should be the default one.

So question is what kind of suspension should I use for a little more comfort.

Ironman? Oldman? 50 mm lift or 100 mm... any specific details? and Price range from Rwp/Isl/Lahore if anyone has idea..

How much does your front bumper weights and does it have a winch?
For comfortable non bumpy ride you will have to take in account extra weight on your rig.

Ironman and Old man emu kits do improve but still I cannot say how much improvement they will provide. Keeping the load in mind you can get the light weight.. medium weight or heavry weight kit.

If your rig did not have a bull bar then light load rating 50mm kit would be the best.

If you put heavy load kit then when your rig is unloaded ride will be bumpy but when fully loaded it will be great.

Do check if your suspension is having any desi mods due to which 33s fit properly... if that is the case 50mm kit might not raise the vehicle any more or maybe even lower it..

About the speedometer it can be calibrated to show correct speed if you down grade to 31" tires.
Keep tire pressure less if its bounchy..

To be honest I don't know weight of bumpers. I think should be 300 kgs approx. the whole rig should weigh around 3 tons+. These are just my estimates.

Yes it does have winch. Got it serviced recently.

The suspension installed are desi. Mechanic says no desi jugar for lift installed. I didn't find time to check myself. The tyres are ok on road but sometime touch fenders on steep speed bumps and off-roading. But not much.

I have a pair of electronic shocks that were installed before. 1 pair working 1 doesn't. But they were not being used or connected by previous owner.

The vehicle has a huge amount of unwanted weight. All those accessories with arb stickers aren't original, the guy made them from steel. Hence the vehicle is overweight. If you intend to keep it this way, heavy load ironman is the way to go. If you wish to switch, then first switch and suspension later

yes i know there is a lot of extra mass on the car. Roof rack, bumpers, tyre behind.
Lots of drag cos of fog lights and the bar above...

i thought a couple of times to get rid of these bumpers but its always comes down to looks vs performance.

Regarding looks I like it in this way... kind of bold...

As far as performance is concerned... I have never driven any diesel car from era so I cant compare to others.
It goes from 0-100 in a decent time... lets say somewhere 14-20 seconds.
Fuel consumption if driven with this weight is 8.5 km/lit mixed.
On slopes its slower than normal cars but it can go anywhere.
Top speed I have driven this is 150 KM/hr.... not safe with this big weight and tyres but with full time 4x4 it has good road grasp. even with mud tyres.

So with this performance I think I can afford these looks...

The performance is satisfactory on your behalf, my concern is the vehicle's ability to coop with this unnecessary weight. sooner or later its suspension and rubber parts will begin to cry and your engine will wear out alot quicker, i have repeatedly said that these looks can stay but with lighter or original arb. i Mean lets face it,its a miracle that the rear door doesn't fall off with all that weight. Trust me, since you have spent so much, go a little extra and loose the weight, convert them original arb. You will not regret it

Don't know about the price but ironman parts are epic to use. Compare the prices with those available abroad via the internet, if there is a slight difference than cool, if not then negotiate with them.

And by cheaper if you meant substitute, yes, local market has substitute parts of other brands, even used iron man parts can be found. People sell their old parts when they upgrade.

Again, loose weight before these things. Else vehicle will become very unstable

Yesterday I had chance to drive FJ cruiser and I was really amazed by the comfort level.
So as the idea of changing suspension kit was fading before but after enjoying the FJ for a whole day I am again looking for proper kit for my car.

My question is that with this constant load of 200 above GVM, will I be able to get a comfortable ride as I am expecting? or is it too hard/harsh on road?

i was thinking my ride should be 3 tons plus but it should not...

if stock is 2600 kg then adding 200 because of steel bullbars is 2800 kg...

Steel bullbars are 200 kg max with winch.

I will change them but priority is suspensions now.

Hi empty skull read your thread your 80 is really nice.I bought an 80 few months ago it's a 1992 vx manual transmission with 1hdt dual fuel tanks duel Ac and cool box black colour rangers auction it was with a friend I took a ride and loved it the engine had blow but even in the condition it was awesome I did 140kmph from lhr to isl without any issue and the comfort of 80 series is the best part of it.in simple I m loving it I do hardcore off roading on it and what I have exprienced it's a tough truck with the comfort of a sedan. and the best touring vehicle according to well known websites and YouTube channels.
