Sir I think the whole point of discussion is not about what an object is called in one place, should be called the same in other places. And local differences in dialect.
The discussion is about what is the correct terminology and what is not. For eg: a brake disc is the correct word so whether it be anywhere in the world it should be called a brake disc. If a mechanic in your locality mentions it as 'pad' or anything other than the correct name, doesn't mean you should follow the same because its the local lingo. You know what a brake disc is, say the correct word, if they point you out, you can reply that you're saying the correct term.

Notice the round-flat shape of both objects, hence the word "Disc" in both their names. Because they are disc-shaped objects.
