Road to Phander is not that bad, you'll few bad patches on the route though. But, I think city will make it. Just to give you an idea of its road, here are some more shots from my trip. PTDC is a good choice if you are not budget conscious, if i am not wrong it will cost you around 4000 per night.. the view in front of PTDC is gorgeous.

There is no way you can get a room in 4000 in this season. Also, you won't even get a room on the very day.

Here you go, PTDC rates are fixed throughout the year, it is just availability of rooms.

Since, he is visiting in September I don't think there will be any issue. Even in August we find hotel mostly empty though we didn't stay in PTDC.

Just to be on safe side booking in advance is good option. Javago is offering this facility or you may directly book it.

Guys, was just thinking if i can also visit astore valley, i chkd the distance and google says its about 3 hour drive from hunza. I was thinking if i get bored in hunza and have extra time we can visit astore minimerg. What are the road conditions

Hunza to Astore will be at least 4 to 4.5 hours. For minimarg, you are right. You need permission from Army.

If you go to Astore, you may like to go to Rama which is a beautiful meadow. PTDC is the place to stay there, and if you are feeling adventurous you may trek to Rama lake which is around 1.5 to 2 hours trekking from PTDC. Rememebr to take walking sticks with you as you will have to cross two glaciers on the way and it is too slippery without a stick.

Rama is on a hill top with some steep ascends, road is in rough condition at some places.

as its rainy season so nobody cant tell for sure untill someone is there as situation can change everyday, like last month there was a landslide but it was cleared in day. i will be going by end of this month too best way will be to check with couple of hotels/employee or any driver who is coming from that area before deciding to go.

Aqeel what im trying to ask is that will the weather be chilly in hunza or moderate. Monsoon and landsliding is more related to naran and babusar pass road i dont think hunza is that effected by monsoon. Do you know about the current weather?
