Went to see elantra today at hyundai eastern sialkot , It was around 12 PM. Sadly it was closed. Elantra was on display , will go tomorrow for detailed inspection.

Looks are quite aggressive despite the fact its an old model. Build quality is good, however somehow Meter cluster feel cheap as compare to civic and corolla. Ground clearance is big factor in Pakistan, rest 2.0 engine is not requirement or attraction for a family sedan, It will definitely attract spoiled "racer boys" though or "Priders" who boast they left every car behind on Motorway, always wonder where they get medal for that.

Let's hope Nishat group won't mishandle it like they did Tucson. People now have more trust and are more comfortable with Luck group than HNG. So far there is no serious threat to Corolla or Civic, let's see how things unfold.

They are offering one month delivery on full payment at the moment , so they are willing to actually put cars on the road this time around. There is always a novelty factor and its a good looking car , we will see some competition.

That medal will be received in the shape of multiple challans. One thing I have seen changing in pak is that govt will extract money from you, even if it means installing world class surveillance technology on motorway. Just try crossing the speed limit once, lag pata ja si.

If the 1.6 variant is about at the very least 1 lac cheaper than the 1.6 Altis, it could potentially be an exciting launch.

I think it’s going to be more expensive than altis 1.6 probably 1-2 lacs more as this is Hyundai nishat we are talking about the so called premium brand

The interior of Elantra looks hideous and cheap to me. Even the exterior is not that grand as it was advertised to be. This is just a cranked up junk from Hyundai-Nishat. Those who have spare cash to burn can go right ahead and buy but I would never recommend any sane person to opt for this car.

Only make sense if Honda civic and corolla x prices increased by 2-3 lac in April too loot maar ka bazaar hai ye 'industry'.

Also the head room is quite pathetic on the back seats, check the review. So your head will definitely smash against the roof on bumps... from what I heard about the body roll this car doesn't have the best suspension or road grip in the world.

You cant possible expect a full option Elantra for the price of an Altis 1.6

I can fully bet that an Audi and hyundai are nothing alike in quality. They are just jazzed up because they engineers are European so they copy VAG with just about the same level of quality lol.

The 2L Civic as in US is around 158HP and offered in base models like LX and Sport varaint.

mazda 3 2-L engine also makes about same 155 HP.

My bad. I had the new corolla with the 2 ltr In mind. The 1.5 civic touring makes a 172 hp.

Yes Corolla 2L SE / XSE variants are 169HP and also has a first physical launch gear in CVT.

Yes, I have heard it same ..well good if true as far as registration BUT not sure why imposing insurance charges..

yah insurance should be optional.

I have also heard that they are doing this registration charges just for first few days and everything will go back to as usual. This Elantra will be for sale with premiums ..
