thinking about getting an elantra gls to replace our 1.3 gli corrolla from 2016. went on pakwheels and saw wayyy too many ads of people selling the elantra with barely 50kms on their car. is there any reason for this.

its approx 6 M now. i think its not the right price for C segment car. probably everyone is thinking the same. however all C segments are costing similar or more nowadays. that is why people are selling.

its an exceptional car. very nice experience. go for it. its a sure shot big time upgrade on a GLI and u will enjoy IN SHA ALLAH.

Those are all investor's cars which are sold on premium, you will find every locally produced cars with less than 100 kms on sale in PW adds. PW and its management do not endorse this inventory hording but on other hand they can't stop their own PW platform being part of this hoarding business by showcasing these cars on premium price whose adds pay PW the premium to feature them.

Salaam guys, does anyone's Elantra make a ticking noise on a cold start? It nearly goes away when the car gets warm but it's very audible when you start the car. It's like a phatt phatt sound, sort of like a polythene bag flapping in the wind but rhythmically. The frequency increases as you speed up. I've been told it's the hydraulic valve lifters and that its normal. Anyone else experiencing this?

yes its normal with hydraulic tappets. its more audible in winters during cold start.

Anyone tried to install Cruise Control in Elantra 1.6L ? Or i am the only one?

Did some research, turns out that in US and some other countries, the base 2.0 trim comes with no cruise control. And a simple plug and play change of steering control button panel activates the feature. Original factory cruise button panel costs around 50 USD.

So I asked Hyundai dealership to arrange this part part number: 96720 F2110)for me (it costs around 14K PKR). However, they said that if it doesn’t work, they won’t accept return of the part; and I was okay with this. Before ordering I did some more research on activating cruise on 1.6 variant but couldn’t find any use case on the internet. Therefore, I reached out to an engineer at Hyundai Lahore and he told me that he’s very sure that the ECU for 1.6 is different from 2.0 and it doesn’t have cruise feature in it. So it won’t work.

I didn’t end up buying the part for my experiment though. Do let me know if you successfully activate the feature.

You might be able to source the same part from PartsCentral at a lower price, maybe it is worth a try instead of regretting on not trying later on.

if ECu is different and it does not have cruise control then no use.

This job is finsihed. No alteration required. Just plug the switch and its good to go. Bought this switch from aliexpress for 5,000 PKR as orignal cost is 19,400 PKR from Hyundai Pakistan.
Now i am working on climate control and Drive mode.

You need to pull out steering wheel. If you can, its DIY. Otherwise ask machanic.
