Maybe the santa fe falls in a different tax bracket being a 2.4L while q5 is a <2L. Audi q5 and CRV both have engine displacements under 2000 cc.
Other than this, i see no possible reason for this price disparity.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

1800cc and above comes in same tax bracket . The bracket changes at 1800cc .. and then there is no other bracket. The regulatory duty bracket then changes at 3000cc. So from 1800-3000cc.. its the same bracket.
Q5 is 1998cc and it comes in same bracket.

Now as I said earlier the duty is a percentage of the vehicle Innove price.. on average Santa FE is atleast 15,000 dollar cheaper than Q5 when base models are compared and the difference increases when you switch to higher trim levels.

So if you start applying duties , the net price would be much higher for Q5..

Honda Atlas listing a 9th generation 2.4L Accord at 13Million. And that Accord cost around same Price or maybe little more than Santa fe internationally.. the 300% duty then does not seems kicking in case of Accord.

Problem is 50% less tax is only available for only those cars which you want to produce in Pakistan and Hyundai don't want to produce this car in Pakistan So these are imported unit only and problem on taxes come in the shape of engine CC as for Audi Q5 it is 2967 cc so it price in Pakistan from Audi original website is 19,350,000.00 PKR

I think you didn't read correctly my few posts above. That is what I am saying.. as per Hyundai the santa FE attracted full duties as currently in force.. and Audi is importing under same duty structure... Honda and Toyota also imports under same structure

So you mean to say 50% is only if you make that car locally as well ?.. it means we will see a PKDM Grand Carnival and Startx ? But Kia confirmed they have no plans to produce Carnival locally and Hyundai said Starex will remain a CBU.

My question is Q5 is also imported under the same duty structure.. how come a product which we know is premium and expensive than Santa FE..almost 15000 dollar more in international market is only a 8 lakh more than Santa Fe after import... It does not make sense at all.

BTW Audi Q5 is 2.0T and little less than 2000cc as offered in Pakistan

Well, my question is not what will be assembled locally.. I have a simple question. the price diffrence between Q5 and Santa FE.

Also the price of Santa fe is not 55000 dollars as in video.. The 2.4L varaint ia cheaper model and its price is around +/- 30,000 us dollars with much more features and equipment almost fully loaded. I dont see a 55000 dollar Santa fe anywhere on planet.

You are not getting the point.. duty structure on both q5 and Santa fe is same. Santa Fe is much cheaper car than Q5.. how comes they are almost around same price after import ?

Either Hyundai is keeping alot of profits or Audi is doing charity.

Let's go to UK
Base price Santa fe GBP 33425
Base price around GBP 44000

Now import both vehicle under current 300% duty into Pakistan.. You will see the price diffrence of almost 30,000 GBP.

Now apply same analogy here.. Santa Fe is cbu, we all know that.. it will not be made locally, agreed..

Santa fe and q5 price diffrence? After import

Now go to US
Base price Santa Fe $24250
Base price Q5 around 43000

Let's go to Austrlia

Base price of Santa fe is 48000 Australian dollars [ means 34200 US dollars[
Base price of Q5 is 66000 Australian dollars means almost US$.47000.

You can see the trend of price diffrence between the two. Now as we are beating the same drum, both vehicles are under same duty structure for being above 1800cc but less than 3000cc.

I want to know how Hyundai is pricing this Santa fe for PK market. They put all blame on 300 percent duty.. well that is applicable to others as well.

And I also need to know how come CRV is 11 Million. It gets same level of Duty and in international markets CRV and sata Fe are closely related as far as price

In simple words they priced it high to make an image as they are saying its premium model and premium brand and they compete with high end cars.. which is completely wrong.

Othe side of the story is.. your elentra will be more than your Corolla and civic in future when assembly starts locally.. Hyundai is building that narrative for Pakistani market. You need Hyundai.. you will pay more.. and it's already said by Hyundai rep.

Although Hyundai success internationally is that you get more car for less money when compared with competitors on basis of price.. but even after all that features and less price Hyundai still cant reach those sales numbers their biggest Japanese rivals are having.

It is not a base model price it is price of the highest model which is 32000$ it equal to santa fe ultimate please check the information as far price i have not idea if you have any thing tax system how they apply tax to different spec of car then please share

Again, you are not getting the point. Even if its 35000 and fully loaded , its cheaper than Q5 base model every where and many thousand dollars cheaper. You reduce the price gap still it does not make sense.

Also keep in mind these prices for Hyundai are at dealership for regular consumer with profit margin of dealer included. The actual price is much less as dealers need to make money as well.

If Hyundai is bringing it they are not buying it off the shelf from dealer.. obviously they are shipped from factory..

Or they have posted an inflated price on the bill of lading
