Elentra don't compete with Accord or Camry, I mean Camry, Accord and Hyundai Sonata are completely different segment. Accord and Camry are much much more refined vehicle's. Elantra compete with Corolla and Civic.
Obviously its a CBU and all tax are applied. Now the question is if Hyundai will launch it locally because as per Hyundai at launch of Santa FE, they officially said, they are getting 50% subsidy on import duty, for test launch and marketing purpose and on vehicles which will be later produced locally.. that was also the same logic at time of Santa FE launch that it attracted all those duties because it is not planned to be assembled locally.
I think this this Elantra is slapped with higher duty brackets at prevailing duty structure without any subsidy
