Oh. Didn't notice that. But elantras of the past have looked the same all over the world, regardless of the market. Except for the elantra gt/i30 which i doubt is the car in that photo because i30 isn't due for a facelift any time soon.

like new Civic , Camry are on global platform as well as the expected the new Corolla, Elantra is also a global model which looks same inside and out all across the globe with these markers are orange required by DOT in USA. same goes for the new Civic and Camry. US civic comes with orange side marker while outside US and even in Pakistan its transparent.

Yes, there are slight visual variations in some cars market-to-market. One example I can recall is the UK-spec Mustang having clear tailights instead of Red like in the US, among other differences.

Well, I think in person it'll look much much better with those LED headlights and I think pics are not doing justice with it, but overall I think prefacelift looks much elegant than this.

Although I quite like the rear of the new car especially the LED taillights, they messed up the front just as I feared. It isn't extremely revolting, it's mildly good looking I'd say, but I would buy the previous car over this one any day of the week.
Why did they have to make it look like a stupid Peugeot from 2005???

Although I will give Hyundai props for giving the car a proper facelift with distinct differences (however bad they may be) rather than changing only a couple of things like most companies do.

They messed up with Sonata facelift on previous generation and it was heavily criticized and that's the reason the next generation Sonata [ the current] arrived much earlier than anticipated

No one's launching mass market passenger cars initially it appears!
Focus looks like on catching light commercial and niche segments.
Kia coming with frontier, carnival and later Sportage.
Hyundai coming with a mildly different pickup, Tucson and a commercial executive van.
Changan coming with 2 LCV's, 1 SUV and 1 family van.
DFSK comes with 3 LCV's and a halo suv.
Only Ssangyong is expected to launch a mass market price Tivoli initially but Dewan also re entered with a new shehzore.
JAC coming with a pickup and later plans on utes and ev's(niche af)
Foton only got a Ute plus LCV's and even that Ute is not confirmed for local assembly yet
So not expecting any new mass market cars before 2021 I'm afraid?

Datsun will ofc launch mass market cars and Renault is expected with duster against brv but even that ain't coming before 2020-2021

one of my friend who is involved in the construction of Hyundai factory told me "off the record".. due to extreme devaluation and uncertainty with the current political situation/ new government the progress of work/ timeline is now being intentionally delayed. So if we were expecting something locally assembled from Hyundai in 2019.. push it towards 2020. Again its unauthentic news but I dont doubt it as well.
