Santro market going down now a days. ..

Indeed.. I had maximum 5.8 lac offer for my Islamabad Registered Santro in Lahore... I was expecting above 6 though..
Now i planned to keep it for another year.. As it is still a smooth car and has no issues..

sALAM. After driving 205,000 Kms i think now its time to overhaul my santro club 2008 GV. Yesterday while driving on mall road the engine shut down bu started again on single self..then at Zafar ali road it shut down again and i had to take it to shell petrol pump by "dhaka". It felt like the engine oil was burning. i changed oil at shell the car started again and i took it home.. the smell of burning oil and smoke again started when i parked the car. Does it need overhauling??? It was giving too much white smoke from the exhaust pipe when i started it at the petrol pump before oil change. and yes the old engine oil was boiling at the time of changing

W.salam start your car drive a bit and post picture of spark plug it will give good idea about whats going in combustion chamber

Not at all. Infact ride would be more stable on high speeds. Keep one thing in mind, go for the light weight rims: Taiwan or Japan. Not the local or chinese ones.

Guys i got the fuel tank full yesterday morning and car was working normal till evening but then when in the night suddenly the car started jerking and not picking race and the race is also not stable and i am unable to drive the car. . i tried looking for loose connections etc. but unable to find any problem - can anybody highlight the possible problems ? or the problematic part etc. thanks

could be because of sub par petrol

^ could be highly possible - but i got refueled from a reputed Total pump of DHA & this was first day after price cut.

My experience has been the same, once i heard the pertol shortage is coming so i rushed and went to first pump i could find to top it up and same thing started happening to me after a day or two. Now whenever i let go tank full empty car starts to miss as dirt is staying there at bottom of tank.

Edit: also as pertol price is reduced maybe they are importing even more sub par petrol

I suppose you just have to live with it till tank gets 1/3rd empty and maybe mixing high octane will make things better

A failing fuel pump or too clogged injectors!

car on its own started working normal again - - - still confused why was it behaving abnormally & how come it started working normal again. . .

Probably there was some blockage in the fuel rail/ pump which is cleared automatically. Try not to let the tank get emptied. Refill as soon as you have consumed more then half tank.

^ i dont think so. i think some other issues maybe some sensor problem or current leakages.

It might be the crank position sensor or its wiring. Did your car hesitated to accelerate and you had to floor the pedal to drive the car?
