well, the first time i saw the "WHITE SMOKE", i was in Hyundai workshop (I-10)... They changed the Air filter, it's box and Spark Plugs and charged me 3000....
at first i tried to convince my self that "company wala's" did a good job and the spending was worthed.. I was out of this comfort zone as soon as i discovered the Wrapping of Spark Plugs... Guess what .. Hyundai dealers used "SGP" (Suzuki Genuine Parts) Spark Plugs.. I was like..:S Suzuki.. Hyundai... This could be done by any of those "Street Mechanics" the way Mr.Asif (From Hyundai workshop) described it.. I wasn't satisfied at all by the PROFESSIONALISM of the dealership...
People do believe that the "Dealership Maintenance" is the best choice rather then experimenting around... some of them say that "There are Benz and BMW's all around... well maintained without those dealerships.. How do they manage it.. Steet Mechanics??"... I belong to the later school of thought...
I went to an EFI specialist in I-9 and i was more than satisfied with his methodology... Pure efficience...
I discussed it some mechanics and realized that EFI doesn't mean that it runs without cylinders, pistons and valvues... Internal mechnism is the same... so i decided to go to My uncle's workshop who arranged a very good mechanic for me.. i saw him at work and i was impressed...
The point is that it took me 36k to bring back the engine... with all these parts being replaced.. If i would have gone to "the Dealership", it would have costed me around 45-50k.
Please note that 36k included engine overhaul, including clutch plate pressure plate, oil pump even a tappet "bansri".....
Just an engine overhaul can cost one around 25K....
Thanks for patience...
