2. Kerb weight of this car compared to Tucson (as sonata’s brochure tells 1415kg and Tucson brochure is silent)
3. Fuel economy of Sonata 2.0 vs Tucson 2.0!

Surely flooring the pedal can't be the only aspect of drive quality. Yes Civic X is great in terms of suspension, stability and power, but other aspects like cabin insulation, quality of the interior fittings, seating comfort and the overall driving seat experience, turn the equation completely in favour of the Sonata. For an average user, 90% of the driving takes place in cities where you hardly get the chance to drive above 80.

Sonata comes fitted with Pirelli P Zeros which are one of the best perfornance tyres and are used in a lot of sports/luxury cars.

P Zero isn't a very high performance tyre. It's a decent tyre but you are praising it way too much. No sports car comes equipped with P Zeros. The P Zero Rosso on some sports cars is a completely different tyre from the standard one that comes fitted on the Sonata.

Secondly, the reason for people complaining about the extra noise is because the P Zero tyre on the Sonata is Mud and Snow terrain tyre. All season/M+S tyres are known for making high road noise and have a signature humming sound.

It used to be, I guess I’ve been out of the scene for too long. The Ferrari F40 came with them along with many super cars of that era. Pirelli still use the brand in their F1 tires.
Maybe they have different variants now, like the Rossi. Brand extensions.

Yes that's what they do now. P zero has different variants but the ones found on Sonata aren't UHP.

Wasn't talking at all about flooring the pedal or long drives. My driving style is completely opposite to flooring with fuel economy in mind. That's where I found Civic most responsive compared to other cars. With a soft pedal push, the car's highly responsive compared to other options I've driven. That's where I've found Civic drive most enjoyable in city driving, where you don't find all other cars overtaking you after every signal or traffic stoppage. This is something I experience a lot in Fortuner Diesel and trust me it is highly annoying as I don't want to floor the car during a short drive within the city.

Other aspects you mentioned though are indeed important in overall experience.

Guys, I want to replace the OEM tires - would request you to share your experience in terms of what you got, how it has worked out so far - and for Khi based members, would also request the names of reputable dealers / pricing of replacement tires. etc.

I read up on this - from what I learnt, this affects the 2.5GDI engine (due to certain design issues), not the MPI engine available in Pakistan.

Hi, I have a 2.5 coming before Eid. I went to the showroom and messed about with the 2.5 variant. I found something very peculiar. When the car is reversing only the left side reverse indicator light turns on, not both. Tried it on two separate 2.5 sonata's, the result was the same. The dealership informed me that is how it's meant to be. Can any current owners confirm this please.. Thank you.

Can any owner confirm whether both the reverse lights turn on when the car is reversing or just the one on the left? I checked two sonata's at the showroom, both had just the left reverse light turning on.

Only one turns on.

Yes, it's normal in many cars now. Seen it on MG HS, Sportage etc.
