you can even get 3-4 Sonatas in M5/C63 price tag (that too decade old models) as you mentioned ! Anyway accept for what it is. Even a brand new cars can break down .. its a mechanical piece of metal with a hefty price tag nothing more !

Read my post above - I did accept it for what it is. Never claimed its equivalent to a RWD 'sports' sedan but has decent power for what it is.

Some people are also comparing Sonata with Civic, which is again not right (in my opinion) because Sonata punches above its weight and is in the league of Civic's elder brother Accord, but priced slightly above the younger sibling. 0-100 time isn't the right benchmark to evaluate family sedans.

The Discussion started when this car was compared with a different setup machine and focus was on how much it is quick. Yes its a decent car with good looks but no where on earth we can say that these 'Family Sedans are speeds demons, ! and those who say they are boring are living in some where else mentally.

Accord is the right comparison, Civic is not.

Also, comparing Accord to Camry one could argue the same but in PK there aren't any other CKD D-segment sedans.

Sonata is a D-segment XLI. actually. No features, no drive, not even adaptive cruise.. why are paying 9M. No active safety, no power, no cruise per today's standards.

LOL. looks like someone is bent on dissing the vehicle perhaps due to other reasons.

No features? Tell me of another CKD vehicle with HUD, fully digital meter, electric curtain, nappa leather?
Adaptive cruise control? 14mn+ ki Fortuner has it??
Safety? Which other CKD vehicle has 6 airbags?
No power? Perhaps only Civic Turbo RS has significantly more power in CKD options. Again, none of them are drag machines.

If you want to criticize any vehicle, at least have some merit in your arguments.

On another post thread you said Peugeot is better than a Sportage. Again a false comparison - B segment vs C segment. Stonic would be the right comparison.

Also, if you think Sonata is XLI at 9mn, then your fav Peugeot must be Mehran at 6mn.

Lol funny how people are complaining about sonata 2.5 being underpowered compared to civic rs, and then shaheel shehzads acceleration runs put sonata 2.5 at 9.1s and civic rs at 9.2s for 0-100kmh. Even sonata 2.0 at 10.3s is pretty decent for a local car.

Bro what happened to all the "You can't compare SUV to Sedan or D segment vs B segment" etc etc? Fortuner is a fully capable 4x4 monster with immense power and has all the off roading goodies, it serves what it was built for. RS you can tune it to be a good dragster. Sonata 2.5 is good car, it has good features considering its a CKD car but the only thing id always disagree on is that the drive is good, it is boring and tasteless.

i dotn know why there are long deliveries for civic, i think its more of an investor thing. Not too many people are really investing init any more. I even see people buying X& & Haval now. Civic is old story. RS dyno cannot cover the doom.

Engine and handling and features slaps sonata by miles
Reliability and after sales support is another huge huge edge in Pakistan.
Hyundai couldn’t sell anywhere well to sustain.
That lifafa is preferred anywhere in the world over sonata even where 1.6T is available /)

Sonata 2.5 isn’t underpowered at all
Have driven it around 10K km
Never once have I felt that the car is unable to keep up with what I want it to do
I really enjoy the engine

Steering feedback is also good, Its precise

Only thing I prefer in civic is CVT as the car is never in the wrong gear

Sonatas 2.5 can’t be compare to mark X but it’s a very practical engine
Very reliable and amazing fuel economy
If I’m light with it I can use one tank for 800km
I drove it at 120 to faislabad and it gave me an average of 17

Seats are very comfortable
Build quality is top notch

Although on paper specifications may seem underwhelming, what features this car has they function perfectly and none are gimmicks

Road presence wise this car is far above civic

This car has 3 negative points though
Service is expensive as they force you to change the oil after some months to maintain warranty. This issue is also in kia

The paddle shifters don’t stay in manual mode when you use them
So in hilly areas engine braking is hard to do

The original Pirelli tyres in the car aren’t good
They must be changed

This car really shines on the motorway
If you keep it on 125 with cruise control it’s absolutely effortless to drive
It just keeps going
The engine never lets the speed fall even during the hilly ascents
And the lights are perfect, they have Amazing range

Gives great fuel economy too
One can go from islamabad to lahore and back in just one tank if speed is kept at 120 throughout

Lafafa will always be lafafa with its reflective housing centuries old lightening system.

to me all hyundais are a light show at night and have very very good night road illumination instead of other fanboy shashkas they focussed on wats needed.

besides again iterating dear only comparison that we have is elantra and civic.

sonata is a different impact once u reach a place in it. try imagining it please.

and no hard feelings, civic is a good car on its own. has market and support.

sonata has its own value and market. no need to fight over it. we can all have different openions simple.
