1. I want to know what are some reliable places from where i can get genuine spark plugs in KARACHI..
2. Really don't know which brand and product should I go for Iriduim, Platinum or whatever....
3. My car is Daihatsu Mira 660cc(Dohc engine), I need plugs that gives good performance as well as better overall power with low fuel consumption.

I don't want my stock setup.....thats y don't want to read that bonnet sticker sir.....! A friend of mine having Kei suggested me to change my car's spark plugs as he has noticed improvement in his car's performance.

Thats the kind of answer I was expecting from Xulfiqar. Btw are you sure the plugs have nothing to do with the performance and fuel efficiency except for the longer life?

You can go ahead and put gold, iridium, rhubudium, platinum, uranium all combined into an engine, its fuction does not decide that the engine's HP output should increase. Lets say you put some into a car and ramp it up on a dyno, you will get your own answer.

indeed it dsnt,but voltage required by iridiums is lesser than required by coppers,but dont u think an engine which is supposed to be on iridiums is on copper n when it shifts on iridiums,the car will drive better as compared to copper plugs?wont increase hp for sure but car will be performing the way it should have been originally.

If you take out worn out eroded spark plugs from an engine and install new any"dium" plugs it will restore the performance back to normal, you can have the same result with a set of original spark plugs. The firing voltage is set by the ignition coil - not the plug. The only reason manufacturers used such plugs was to ensure you dont have to replace them anytime soon, e.g. just changing them on a 2JZ-GE requires you to dismount the Y shape intake manifold piece, or if you want to change them on a 6G mistubishi you have to completely remove the intake manifold.

It would become a nightmare to service such engines if you needed to change out the plugs every 25,000 kms.

yes i know voltage is set by ignition coil but dont iridiums require less voltage as compared to a copper plug?
the reason im asking this is,i was reading something on the denso website n it said iridums do require less voltage n they also increase the responce n somewhat torque as well,not the hp ofcoarse

and as told by u,they also say 'Through superb ignition performance and spark voltage ' they increase the hp,but this is the case of racing plugs but not just the ignition but the plugs as well :S

^^maybe racing plugs just increase reliability cuz a race team cant afford to loose a race just cuz of a bad plug? and it has not much to do with performance?

both iridium and copper have heat ranges there are heat 6 range iridiums and heat 6 range coppers as well
