Many friends asked me about the Paragliding and are interested, but honestly speaking I don't recommend anyone specially in this season.
You can do it in winters but in Karachi it is not recommended to fly in Summer as powerful sea breeze will not let you fly. And like kite flying in Karachi in summer the wind can take you anywhere with a thrust.
Moreover, most of the clubs belong to Islamabad and are not much familiar with the winds of Karachi and become helpless here. So guys be careful as safety comes first.

I dont know how I missed this flying thread Bro sprite/Ali: this is amazing and frankly I didnt know this kind of extreme adventure was even possible in KHI. Glad that you were part of it. Must meet to hear from you first hand the pleasures of paragliding and of course this aint for the faint hearted.

Actually this club is Islamabad based. And owned by a friend Maj.Sajid. They used to fly at Khanpur dam near Isd. and Choa Saidan near Chakwal. I joined the club few months back and It was all my fault , I was Continuously insisting them to conduct this in Karachi also :D.
They paid a couple of visits and did some reky at surrounding areas of Superhighway but finally Mubarak village area was selected because of Sand dunes (height and safe landing area).
Although it was a good effort but they declared it a flop show them self, as the breeze was outrageous and whirling and no one knew where it will take the para. The thrust was horrible and it was really hard to control the canopy in that tricky wind. But it was one hell of an experience for us and for them also. As now they are doing their research on flying in these winds and hopefully will be coming back in a couple of months. Insha Allah.
Personally, I am waiting for winter, as in Karachi winter is the most suitable time for flying because of absence of sea breeze.
Now there are few friends here which are also interested. So we can plan a package deal with the club and get a discount from them for a group. (Winter main un ko dobara khainch kar ly aain gey . But once again I do not recommend any one to fly in this season with any group. As it will not only be a waste of money but it is also quite dangerous.

In winter you can count me in as a spectator...I really dont think I can get myself to put on a paragliding thingy no matter what

Again nowadays as sea is on swell and there fore, visibility is zero and waves height is 9-12 feet so have to wait till Sept. for a dive.

Sailing and wind surfing can be done nowadays.
Both are offered by Karachi sailing club and PAF saling club. As Karachi sailing club is strictly for members only and people like me can only dream of becoming a member of this club. Since the closure of National Sailing club, nowadays only available option for common man like me is PAF saling club. I have done sailing and surfing with PAF saling club, they have some good equipment and instructors.
