The guys I bought it from advised me not to do the swap but I was persistent in doing so.
At first, in the same storage I found a L15A IDSI, man it was so new that some components had factory barcode stickers still on them. I had a plan not to buy Steermatic (Multimatic CVT) gearbox but that IDSI was coupled with that which I came to know when it was being loaded for the transit. So, I decided No! No matter what happens, I had been planning on VTEC for the last year and I am gonna regret if I don't do that lol. So, my mechanic and I went again into the garage and found this beauty.
One thing I am concerned with is how much compression each cylinder should have? Last night after bringing it home I check one spark plug, it was iridium (factory fitted and believe me brand new) but from the bottom of the tip it was a bit black, I torched inside the hole and could see the top of the piston black as well. My mechanic told me that during shipment from Japan these engines get oriented differently and get lied there for several months, after a first 10 to 15 km run.... all this would be blown out.
And one thing more what do you guys think? A complete assembly with this condition should have been bought for?
