'I.K Honda' Parts Shop- Lahore

Dear first of all I would like to say that it is my personal experience that I.K honda people are honest people who try to listen your problem and try to save your money. I recently talked to I.K honda representive Mr. Zahid and I totally impressed the way he advised me to solve my problem and even he gave me tips and hints to save my money by replacing the parts without any real cause. As far as their prices are concerned they are the best because I confirmed from them about the prices for some items which are available in other big auto markets and I.K prices are again the least and logicall. Secondly you won't get any geniune part of old honda cars 6 to 10 years old because honda don't make old cars parts they only manufacture the parts of their latest models less then 5 years old cars. So don't worry and also don't look around anywhere else and simply shop at I.K honda international because they are honest and sincere people which you won't find now a days. All the best....

Does anyone has any experience with 'I.K Honda International'. They sell of all kind of 'genuine' Honda parts; body, engine, suspension the lot. Now the price difference, compared to the dealership, is huge yet these people say that their parts are genuine and imported directly from Thailand.
Honda folks simply refuse to recognize those parts as genuine and so do the other market retailers. The common verdict is that those parts are 'just as genuine(ish)' and not too bad at all but not genuine(period) !

Now, I haven't bought anything from I.K till yet- but I might in next couple of days. So just wanted to gather some opinions and experience, if any?

I recently contacted I.K shop located in Johar town Lahore and I was impressed the way their representative helped me by giving me very useful hints to save my money. I found them not greedy people rather they are sincere people whose motto is to guide their valued customer. I told them that I want to replace the front shock absorbers and they replied that what is your problem and I said that I feel that the ride is somewhat rough and noisy and he said that it is not wise to change it as it could be some other small problem which he can help me out if I bring my car to his shop. So I concluded that they are honest and sincere people who do not want to waste your money uselessly which is very important as far as a good shop staff is concerned. I am very much impressed with their kind and professional attitude. Well I also found their prices very reasonable as similar parts with same quality are being sold about 10 to 20% expensive. I don't think Honda keep manufacturing genuine parts for older models which are 5 to 10 years old. I Honda say that they will supply a old model car part upon booking then its mean they are also supplying you a 2 or 3 quality part. In Pakistan there is no law and order so don't think that Honda also speak true all the time. I fully recommend I.K honda for older model cars where budget is a big issue for a consumer. Recently my Honda civic 2005 power steering started malfunctioning and on checking I found its main supply hydraulic pipe leaky. I called to Honda showroom and I was shocked to know its price Rs 9500. Then I contacted a shop in Montgomery road Lahore and got relaxed to know that same pipe was available at Rs 3000 though it was a Taiwan made but fitted and worked very well in my car. It is my advice to all Honda civic older model cars owners that they should not waste money on high priced spare parts while they are not genuine at all. If you won't find any good place then visit I.K Honda shops which are the best for what you are spending.

Can i have a recent review plus contact numbers of IK Honda Lahore, the original Civic break pads are a bit costly (18,000 Rs) in Honda gateway but i heard that genuine are available with IK for arround 11~12k??

Don't go for costly genuine or so called genuine from IK. Use any old 'tested' semi-metallic pads. You can buy Nissin pads, front and rear, for around 2400+2000. There're available everywhere, but just to make sure you're not paying for fakes, try to get them from Bilal Autos in Neela Gumbad and Montgomery Road.

I don't understand why'd people go for expensive genuine brake pads, I don't feel much, if not any, difference in brake bite or fade with either genuine or Nissin ones. Brakes on Civic are good enough to lock up in a moment anyway; a bit too stupidly sensitive IMO- with any sort of metallic pads- so it's not like genuine provide you with better braking response.

as per my exp i bought honda cf brake pads and took them to city sales, they said they are not genuine, i took them to honda part shop to check and compare, believe me they were fake and honda has genuine one in every term, the quality, packing and the accessories that come along with the packing.

Originals come with brake shims and a packet of grease.

If you try to buy genuine Honda from anywhere else than Honda, you'll end up buying fake. So the trick is NOT to buy Honda from other retailers, just go for Nissin ones. They don't come with shims and grease- you can buy those separately- but the 3x price difference is huge. Especially considering that there's no observable difference in braking distance or service life.

I made that thread 4 years ago- didn't know much about market back then- but now I can pretty much guarantee that every single mechanical related item they have in store is fake.

Most of their parts are high grade copies from Taiwan, China, Thiland, Malaysia etc. They're not that bad actually but don't expect to get genuine parts. More importantly, don't PAY for genuine parts.

Try Bilal Autos in Neela Gumbad and Montgomery Road, they do keep genuine parts. You can confirm that with any Honda 3S dealership.

They've moved from there to Thokar-Shokat Khanam road (Nazria Pakistan road). It's on the road toward Shokat Khanam, after you cross PSO-Expo Fuel station; that'd be Abdalian society I suppose.
