The rally experience is just simply out of the world. We had a real hard time juggarring the 4x4 gear issue. We started early from Sukkur and after trial run our chances of participation were quite grim as Lazzaz was getting disabled at load. We consulted different mechanics over the phone and all of them told us to forget about the rally with existing problem. Requested the event management for a mechanic and he, without looking at the vehicle had his verdict to just go, sleep and be a spectator. Imran is having a piston head over his shoulder and refused to give up. He took the 4x4 lever off and managed to free the stuck gear. We thought that the issue was over. Went for the trial run and ended up getting towed by NN again. Again was some hours spent in and under the jeep. The last trial run of the days performed late evening was quite positive. Tested in soft sand without 4x4 gear lever and a screw driver to fiddle with shafts. Gear box saw a lot of sand as it was not covered to check what exactly was happening inside. The first day at the rally village was spent under Lazzaz and man o man, it was along day. We finally managed to go to bed at way past midnight.
Next morning we cut cut tree branches and locked the gear in full time hi-4 position. Wooden pegs were secured by bungee cords. I think NN has got some shots of the setup.
By the time we were done with our Juggar, it was time for NN's qualification run. After NN's run, we took our old lady for the final run and what a relief it was............. We manage to cross the tough part without any issue. Tried the same path three times and returned with happy faces.
Posting some pictures (not many were taken as our most of the time was spent under the jeep)
Doc NN happy after getting bed at Sukkur.
