Yeah correct.....WOULD HAVE gotten the same mileage and (much)acclaimed figures IF I went back all the way to Lahore on the M2......the figures would have improved and....... forgive me for sounding cheeky here, but, I think MITSU would have won! M2 was a sleepy cruise at 120km/h with just 2750 revs on the dial!
Moreover, she was running 265/75s.....taller tires.....stock being 265/70.... am sure you can handle the math involved here much much better than me!

- Similar weight, tire size, etc.

So it should win hands down as all the above key factors (apart from diff ratios) are heavily in its favor! BUT it didn't :-#

The Evo Auto I would think should be efficient and intelligent enough to match the mileage/economy (when the situation desires) on "my 2nd favourite FJ's" bulky and overbuilt manual tranny (out of a 100 series cruiser)!

OK, I just revisted my excel workings and the Invecs II Auto has more economical gearing than the H151 on the FJ and on the balance makes up for the diff ratios. The FJ is around 2850 rpm @120kmph with similar size tires.

Apologies for being somewhat lateral here....

Actually with reference to the KOH 2012 thread, Robby Gordon's Torchmate TTB buggy broke down within the first 20 miles of the race!
The man ended up with a blown motor and an embarassing end to the ambitious and inspring prospect! The buggy was bought by Robby who just did not have enough prep time to please the 4x4 gods enough to last even half the race!

@charged: Many thanks for the well wishes! Lets hope we can last beyong RM 20 as the plan is to let it out this time......

Asad, yes this VW participated in IJC summer camp 2011 and did everything and went everywhere where any other 4x4 went. it crossed deosai, skardu etc beautifully. infact, it did all the river crossings in Deosai on its own, where even some 4x4s got stuck and had to be towed out. so yes its the same vehicle..

it did break down at the end of the journey near Naran when it hit a hidden rock and its filter cracked and had to be towed. something any offroader experiences regardless of even if he's driving a hummer..

to be honest it was much more comfortable than the VX limited i was riding in, with recaro seats, flat screen tv wtih entertainment system and surround sound and whole lot of other shashkaas
