Slogans aside, the key difference I would have thought is the diff ratios in my view. The Evo Auto I would think should be efficient and intelligent enough to match the mileage/economy (when the situation desires) on "my 2nd favourite FJ's" bulky and overbuilt manual tranny (out of a 100 series cruiser)!
OK, I just revisted my excel workings and the Invecs II Auto has more economical gearing than the H151 on the FJ and on the balance makes up for the diff ratios. The FJ is around 2850 rpm @120kmph with similar size tires.
