To me this was one of the most amazing scene of the trip.
Me and Shahid were heading Hunza from Gilgit. The night before was when we had the adventure / misadventure so hadn't slept a wink. Now this night we managed to go in wrong direction and at 4 in the morning, both Shahid and I were almost dying to go to sleep, when suddenly I heard Shahid on the radio, Dr. Sb are you awake and I said yup, he said look to your right and I was just stunned. This is the spot where the Rakaposhi top could be seen closest without leaving the main road. It was right there in front of us. It was just past 4 in the morning. Some very distant rays of the sun (which hadn't even emerged yet) were lighting up the peak. It was simply awesome. I jumped out of the car and was just mesmerized by its beauty. I took plenty snaps, but because of dark getting the exposure right was impossible. Used a small cushion resting on the bridge rail to stabalize the camera, got only 1-2 relatively clean images out 12-13 that I clicked, rest were still blurred beacuse of long exposure. It was freezing cold out there and with me in my shorts, couldn't be bothered to borrow Aimens's stand.
The actual scene was probably much darker than this photograph shows and it was just amazing. All I can say is that after seeing this, I was so awestruck up that I did not feel sleepy till we reached Karimabad 90 minutes later.
