Some of you may remember IJCs last year trip to Rohtas Fort, well actually it was more like a sand run special, with a super-special bog down of my TLC followed by another one by Safari Cruiser. That day we had hoped to also go on to see Tilla Jogian, but as it took nearly two hours to get the TLC out and afterwards another 30 minutes to pull out the safari, our plans had to be restricted.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com.%20As%20usual%20we%20had%20a%20vast%20mix%20of%20vehicles,%20with%20a%20huge%20GMC%20Suburban%20with%205.7l%20V8%20to%20Saleem%20Sbs%20new%20Nissan%20path%20finder%20to%20couple%20of%201940%E2%80%99s/50%E2%80%99s%20Willys!%20So%20some%20were%20travelling%20in%20the%20luxury%20of%20Air-conditioning%20while%20others%20were%20braving%20the%20heat%20of%20June%20with%20enormous%20patience.<o:p></o:p></FONT></P><P><FONT%20face=Arial><o:p></o:p></FONT></P><P><FONT%20face=Arial>The%20track%20towards%20the%20Tilla%20is%20unmarked,%20with%20no%20clear%20directions%20or%20distances%20mentioned%20it%20can%20becoming%20rather%20frustrating%20in%20the%20hot%20weather.%20I%20think%20it%20was%20approx%202km%20of%20broken%20metalled%20road%20beyond%20Rotas%20fort%20and%20than%2019.5km%20of%20very%20rough%20broken%20stoned%20track%20upto%20the%20top%20at%20the%20altitude%20of%20some%203200%20Ft.%20With%2010%20vehicles%20the%20progress%20was%20rather%20slow.%20We%20eventually%20decided%20to%20camp%20under%20tree%20shades%20approx%202%20km%20before%20the%20peak.%20It%20seemed%20a%20very%20nice%20place%20with%20good%20views%20of%20the%20surroundings.%20Zeb%20our%20Food%20Minister%20started%20setting%20up%20the%20BBQ%20and%20rest%20leisured%20around.%20Shortly%20afterwards%20Almighty%20took%20pity%20on%20us%20and%20sent%20over%20some%20lovely%20clouds%20and%20lovely%20breeze%20bringing%20smiles%20to%20everyone%E2%80%99s%20face.%20It%20even%20drizzled%20for%20a%20little%20while%20but%20gentle%20enough%20not%20to%20affect%20our%20BBQ.%20<o:p></o:p></FONT></P><P><FONT%20face=Arial><o:p></o:p></FONT></P><P><FONT%20face=Arial>Some%20of%20us%20drove%20up%20to%20the%20top%20to%20the%20Tilla%20before%20lunch,%20while%20remaining%20went-up%20afterwards.%20With%20the%20weather%20turning%20cooler%20everyone%20felt%20rejuvenated%20and%20really%20enjoyed%20the%20stunning%20views%20from%20the%20top.%20The%20pools%20of%20the%20olden%20times%20were%20empty,%20just%20imagining%20how%20nice%20it%20would%20have%20been%20to%20jump%20into%20them%20if%20they%20had%20water%20in%20it!%20Unfortunately%20like%20the%20rest%20of%20ffice:smarttags)
<st1:place w:st="on">Pakistan</st1:place></st1:country-region>, the olden building structures were all in very poor condition and devoid of any kind of restoration. Shamefully we have never been very good at preserving our very diverse heritage.<o:p></o:p>

Now lets come to the other rather yummy part……… Zeb’s BBQ, due to an early start most had come without breakfast. So when the tikka’s n kebabs started rolling off the skewers, everyone literally pounced on them. Everyone stuffed themselves with hot BBQ n chilled soft drinks. If only we had some iced mangoes to top it off, it would have been even yummier, but I heard no one complaining and nether am I! Thank you Zeb and the rest. It was simply Zabardast!<o:p></o:p>

The return journey down the hill was a bit quicker, as the convoy left in 3 groups with some gaps in-between. We had a short break for tea at Rohtas Fort canteen and later another break at a Road side hotel in Rawat. Overall it was great fun day out with IJC, thankyou all!<o:p></o:p>
