A small question, Are fuel injectors utilized in CNG fitted vehicles .

If yes then do they become dirty on CNG as well.

One more question, I have recently cleaned the spark plugs and after 400 km, I asked the mechanic to open them again for certain reason. They were black. I was very surprised to see it and mechanic questioned me when was it cleaned last time. Is it a symptom of dirty fuel injectors.

Hello everybody,
I have Civic 2003 1.6L. Since 3 weeks during idling my car engine was making remarkable missing. I went to work shop and mechanic change my one fuel injector. Now my car is fine but not up to mark. Mechanic has wash fuel injectors externally not from inside and install it again. I have checked the Ohms of faulty fuel injector, meter reading is around 12 Ohms. I have also searchout on internet for range of ohms for good injectors its around 10-18 ohms. I think my fuel injector is fine only cleaning was required from inside with fuel injector cleaner. Anybody knows the ohms range of new injector and what is brand name of fuel injectors installed in Civic. Please comment my opinion is right or wrong?

There are two basic types of injectors. Low impedance injectors with a resistance of 2.5 to 3 ohms, and high impedance injectors of 12 ohms to 18 ohms. This can easily be measured by a multimeter on the two electrical terminals just as you did. Most of the faulty injectors which are electronically fine can be restored completely by acoustic treatment.

Early Hondas used low impedance injectors with a resistor pack. From about '92 to '96 Honda transitioned from low impedance to high impedance without a resistor pack.

When the flow of gasoline is not even from all the injectors, all cylinders produce different pressure and cause the engine to move in an unharmonized manner, this is why you find performance of your car not upto the mark. Washing injectors externally has no impact on performance. Sonic cavitation has capability to make cleaning within microscopic cracks, groves and holes hence is most suited for cleaning the tiny holes and the nozzle of injectors. Fuel injector cleaners (fuel additives) are not a good option as they do not completely clean the injectors and if not used correctly can even be harmful.

Hondas in Pakistan usually have Keihan injectors but the brand doesn’t matter much. Injector of any brand having the same specifications can perform just as good as Keihan.

EFI cars start on petrol by default. Even if a car is solely being used on CNG, it uses petrol for starting. Injectors get dirty when the petrol dries and leave behind deposits on their nozzle. This phenomenon is same for the cars using petrol and the cars using CNG. The susceptibility of injectors getting clogged is the same for cars using either of the fuels

Soot is formed in the cylinders When the combustion goes bad due to dirty fuel injectors. We all know that soot is basically impure carbon particles which are resulted by incomplete combustion of a hydrocarbon. therefore yes, It is a symptom of dirty fuel injectors

Which is the best injector clearner available in Pakistan ? Which injector cleaning is suitable manual or using the petrol additive? Is there anything as carb cleaner petrol additive. I was in market saw something which said card & injector cleaner. The liquid was dark brown almost black in color.
In karachi where can I get me car's injectors cleaned up and for how much ?

i have civic 1998 vti.....can sumone plz telll that do i need a injector replacement / cleaning etc...
my problem is that when i accelerate the car almost till the red line.......n thn i shift the gear to 2nd there is no responce of the accelerator ( that is i pump it but there is no acceleration n thn after a sec or 2 it comes bak to normal...!!!)
my half air intake is blocked due to cng.......

n one more thing tht my car does not knock on petrol ...i use mixture of hioctane n super 50-50

how about spraying the Injector cleaning spray can direct into the throttle body when the car is running. increase the rpm to around 5k and then start spraying... would that clean the injectors and the trottle body or what will be the effect...

i think would not it take the throttle body carbon deposits too in the manifold and then in cylinder and can chowk the valves.....

I am initiating this thread with the hope that it will enhance awareness among Pakwheelers about importance of fuel injector cleaning. I went through many threads of Pakwheels and gathered that people need injector cleaning but they are not aware how is it done, what are its benefits and what are the risks in driving vehicles with clogged injectors. It is very important to have your injectors delivering precise amount of fuel with specific spray pattern to keep your vehicle moving on its optimum capability. Fuel injectors have somewhat the same importance for our car engine as arteries in our own body.

I, being a fuel injection professional, would be pleased to respond to queries and concerns in this forum. I also expect valuable input from knowledgeable members of the site which will enlighten us more on the topic.

i have Liana 2007 and for some days i have been facing a problem that some times when i start up the car ..it does not start on petrol.. so i manually start it on CNG directly. After driving for a little while... and switching it off when i try to start on petrol it starts normally ...(it does not happen always but some times) why is it happening is it because fuel injectors or fuel pump... kindly explain.

fuel injectors dont inject cng,cng kits have their own single injector
