Importing a Super Bike From America

I'm Thinking of importing a Super Bike ( Most Probably Yamaha R6 )

Yamaha R6 is NOT a superbike, It's a supersport!

A super sport is basically a road legal 'racing replica' with:
Over 400cc up to 600cc 4 stroke 4 cylinders.
Over 500cc up to 675cc 4 stroke 3 cylinders.
Over 600cc up to 750cc 4 stroke 2 cylinders.

Whereas SuperBikes have an engine configuration of either 1,000cc 4-Cylinders or 1,200cc 2-Cylinders.

Unlike MotoGP, the bikes raced in WSBK aren't prototypes, they're production models (albeit heavily modified) and are available for civilian ownership because It's a mandatory condition to participate in WSBK!

Whereas in European Superstock championship, the bikes raced are almost un-modified 1,000cc replicas!

Since you're buying a 'crotch-rocket', thought you'd be interested in this little trivia!

I've absolutely NO idea!

But suffice to say; it'll be BIG trouble!

I personally think that it'd be best to find a legal, custom paid and registered bike locally with all documentation.

A good condition 2006-2010 600cc sport bike can be had for around 8-10 hundred grands.

OLX is your friend but be careful of 'chaska & fraud parties'.

Suspension bhe buhat hard & stiff hoti ha aur low-end torque buhat kam hoti ha. Engine buhat "high tuned" hota han with around 14:1 compression ratio jis ki waja sa in ki reliability buhat buri hoti ha aur stop light par buhat jaldi garam hona shuru kr daiti han!

The bike I posted is a Ducati Monster 821.

And you're right, the bikes used in Arrow also seems to be based on Monster:

And I ride an old school, 2-Stroke Yamaha 90! I mostly use my car for daily commuting and ride my bike only for short commutes to local market to buy groceries and stuff!

High Tuned ka matlab ha ka engine zayada RPMs pr 'peak power' data ha, around 13,000-14,000RPMs. Is ki waja in ha high compression ratio ju around 13 ya 14:1 hoti ha! Phr in ki pistons 'forged' hoti ha, in ka valves 'titanium' ka bna hota ha aur in ka flywheel bhe buhat light weight ka hota ha aur engine buhat fast rev hota ha.

I didn't personally imported a bike. All proceedings were done by the dealer himself!
I just have to see the best possible listings on classifieds posted online. Once I find it in my budget I refer it!

Bike from UAE is having slightly low value in Pakistan as compared with other regions. Custom duty is charged on per cc and it's roughly near $8.5 at the time mine were imported

Kamil7 on pw have imported 2 bikes himself from States. Rest TheBikeShop Khi shall manage your import as they cover Dubai too If I am not wrong.

Lahore does have some reputed dealers. You probably don't need to import yourself now as you can find a fresh bike in Pak in upcoming containers. Or I can also manage to locate bike of your choice locally or in upcoming container

For Canada Kijiji.ca is great.

I don't know why your buying experience on GSXR didn't went great If that supposed to be fresh import. A locally ussed bike with uttermost care will serve you best and save you bucks of-course

A 600 cc crotch rocket is simply a sport bike. Supersport/Superbike is 1000+ cc

Types of bikes is a whole different discussion and there are no well defined categoties since there are bikes that overlap two or more categories.

To address the original question, I think it's much more simpler to buy one from a local dealer. Or ask them to import one for you. The extra fees you pay are negligible.

I imported a 2015 Ducati Diavel Carbon in June 2017 through a personal contact from Canada. The guy in Canada did all the work on the canadian side, and a local dealer from Islamabad (Rypers) got all the customs clearance etc done. There are a few set rules for the customs and mostly it goes by precedent set by previously imported bikes. MSRP and model year are the key in determining factors. Again you can find out the exact duty pased on the VIN of the bike. Ask your local bike dealer and they should be able to tell you.
