KTM India has launched the RC 390 at Rs 2.05 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), making India one of the few countries to get this motorcycle first. The bookings for this motorcycle have begun and deliveries are expected to commence in the next few weeks.
Based on the Duke 390 platform, the RC sports WP telescopic upside down front fork suspension, monoshock rear suspension and powder-coated tubular space frame made from steel tubes. ABS is standard on the RC 390 and could be switched off by holding a button on the instrument cluster. The motorcycle sports twin projector headlamps and a fairing setting it apart from the Duke 390. It also gets the daytime running lamps (DRLs).
The RC390 is powered by the 373.2cc single cylinder four-stroke liquid cooled engine that churns out 44bhp of power. This engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and the power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a chain drive. Braking power comes from disc brakes both at the front and rear. At 147 kg dry weight, it is one of the lightest motorcycle in the segment and also the best when it comes to power to weight ratio.
