Its 7-speed cvt not like a traditional one. There are fake shifts which can be changed in M mode or with paddle shifters.
1.6 comes in 4 speed automatic.1.8 comes in CVT.I prefer CVT as it has very smooth drive.
changed at any speed, from d to s, and s to d. Not to B, B is for low speeds and high torque
its a cvt triptonic, switching it to manual is the same as S

I have Corolla 1.6 GLI it's AT and if you are asking about gear oil change don't put CVTi oil in it.
AT transmission has more life and reliable the CVTi
