Its just Raikot to Tatto (Jhel Village)...2243 meters is a big climb... Though if you go through the jeep road... trek will not be much difficult... as jeepable.

Tatto to Fairy Meados is again climb...2-3 hour trek...

Can anyone tell me abt difficulty level of hiking from raikot to fairy meadows. How much the fitness level is required.

Mustansar Hussain Tarad has called the trek from Raikot to Tatu "Qatal" and he was right. About 10 years ago I had completed this section when jeep track was broken..... at one stage I wanted to die. No water... barren.....extreme heat..... and no shade all along.

Tatu to Fairy Meadows is steep climb also but scenic. It should be completed in 4 hours. Walk gently and you will be there.

BTW, if you are interested, I am planning for a three days trip including camping at Lake Saiful Maluk.... Friday night departure from Lahore and return on Monday night.

from Raikot to Tatu is the toughest track in Northern areas in terms for dry and hot weather. There is no shade, water or cool breeze and it is around 7 hrs treck. So think million times before treking there. Jeep trek is also very tough for jeeps but locals manage to drive there and its less than an hour run, so go for it.

I heard from some my friends about quality and availability of the food. They said food is available but with very high prices and low quality. Can anyone tell about the cooked meal and where to get this food from islamabad or rawal pindi.

bhaiyo, dont trek upto tatu from riakot... its a hell,, it was one of my biggest mistakes in trekking history...

i followd the path tarrar onces used.. and i was dumb enough to take only 1.5 liter water...

only myself know that how i reached tatu in 9 hours of steep climb...

yes tatu to fairy meadows is a child's play bhiya... no tension, walk slowly, i have met a an army col. in way to fairy meadows along with his wife and three small kids max age 12 years...

if these kids can, any body can...

in way you may encounter army problems... specially at murtaza chouki or burzil pass region... if u intend to go there...

jeeps are confirmed,,, its a hub near raikot bridge.. no tension of that,...

just confirm the rates... you will take jeep up to tatu, tell the driver to fetch u back at which date and what time,,, he will be there...

there is no one way ticket... the jeep that brought u up there will be responsible to bring you back down... if you fail to reach at said date and time,,, its your fault...

ummm has anyone gotten a one -way ticket with the jeeps, cuz im planning to take take jeep up hill and then trek on foot for way back to save money? can it be done?

What king of luggage we required. i mean sleeping suits,tents, food, water and how to manage all this. As it is my first experience to this kind of trip.

"Freshmate" ready meal is way to go. You can get it in any big departmental store accross Pakistan.

I have used this food in a couple of abroad trips where halal foods was not available.

There is a competitor Mommy Ready Meals and I had also used them many years ago but then dumped as their qulaity is now down the road.

I can understand It is hard for me to leave as well for a week from July to Mid Oct. But this made me understand that it is more fun to be some where when season is office.
