i have been to kel twice. oncei have rented jeep from muzzafarabad and its fairly economical if u r 5 guyz per jeep. the road is in teriible condition only jeeps go but its alwayz open as it is army route.

on the naran chilas road there is a famous place called jalkhad. there is a army unit there and a road branches from there to the right. the shurgan and sharda are marked on milestone there. it reaches sharda in neelum valley kashmir.

can u tell me from naran chilas road which road takes to noori top and after noori top which place we will reach ??

Kaghan and Neelum valley are parrallel.. but between them are high hills Noori Top pass is on these high hills.

You can go Jalkhad (Kaghan Valley) to Sharda Neelum Valley by crossing noori top. Road condition are changing day by day in such areas high altitudes (13500 or so) . In June usually this road is opened... you have to check its condition...

@noman55 the road condition in neelum is good. I visited after flood in Oct 2010. It was not washed away. but it is hole kacha road not mettalled. about 20% is mettaled. some road is under construction.. But it is manageable easily...

Day4: Taobut - Kel
Day5: Return to Muzaffarabad and Lahore.

Day1 ( thursday) : Balakot
Day2 (firday) : Sugran - Siri payee - Naran
Day3 (saturday) : Lalazar - LuluSir and Babusa
Day4 (Sunday) : Saif ul malook - Naran to either abbotabad or may visit to nathia Gali road and bake lahore at 12:00 night

or even a better one would be

Day1: Rawalakot-Banjusa-Toli Pir-Lasdanna(Night stay and if Rest house is not avaialable drive to Bagh)
Day2: Sudhan Gali - Muzaffarabad - Sharda (If you reach Muzaffarabad by 10AM you can reach Sharda in the evening/early night)
Day3: Sharda-Kel-Shonter
Day4: Kel-Taobut
Day5: Kel-Muzaffarabad-Laore

but remember that DAy 1 is not full day its half like we will start at 2:00 pm from lahore we can cover all these

Again I will reiterate that when you will visit Neelum Valley you will surely regret the days spend on places which could have been spent in Neelum valley. Past Keran the Neelum valley is just superb. No place that I have ever visited fascinated me more then this place and after Kel towards Taobut it is the most green valley I have ever seen.

From Naran u will move to a village Jalkhad. It is 40 km away from Naran towards Babu sar Top. Black top road ends here. A trek branches out from here towards Azad Kashmir . This is not paved. It goes on top of Noori top and descends into kashmir. It runs along Surgan Nullah , pass through Surgan village and other beautiful slopes. It connects with Neelum valley road just near Sharda town.

If you are starting at 2PM from Lahore you will not be able to cover any of these places. In this scenario I suggest you to skip the Rawalakot, Bagh side and directly go to Muzaffarabad on Day1. Also since you have visited places like Dodhipat sar and Ansoo lake then I suggest you also hike upto Chitta Katha lake (From Domail Bala in Shonter valley)

For this please visit my following thread.And also I would like to add that the pics were not even the one tenth of the actual beauty of the area.
The main difference between Naran side and Neelum side is that Neelum side is very very green. While in Naran most of the mountains are barren but in Neelum you will have dense forests and the mountains are also green with grass. (Past Keran).... The only negative about the valley is the first 60-70 KM from Muzaffarabad. It will be hot and mostly barren mountains but once you cross Athmuqam the real beauty starts....

you can reach paey crossing shogran on bike w r t biking skills.
you can cross nori top on bike
you can reach sharan (i personaly have not biked up there) ask any one who reached there on bike
you can reach saifulmaluk, the simplest shortest path

bhai do elaborate. how do i get to shogran. i went once on jeep and so do not know the way. can u kindly treat me like a novice and tell me the pathway exactly? thanks

Bhai you can reach Shogran via Abbottabad, Mansehra, Balakot and Kiwai.
After passing Mansehra, you will see the turning for Kaghan valley...take that and travel straight on it..you will reach kiwai streams..from there a road goes up to Shogran.
From Islamabad, it would take around 6 hrs.
